Midland Braves 8 the Kentucky Colonels 0 in a game that the Colonels were just not in from the very first pitch. The starting pitcher for the Colonels was Clint Hoskins and it was easy to see that Clint just didn't have it today.

The Colonels go on the road and play at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. I will not be going to any of these games, so unless I get a update or two I will not be posting any thing about these games.

Is Uhl playing in college? When I saw him pitch he looked like he had good velocity and he did a nice job pitching inside. I would think that combo plus being a lefty is attractive to a college coach.

Pretty impressive performance from Midland, especially when you consider they are a 16U team. No doubt they are one of the - if not THE - top 16U team in the country.

Nor is this year's either. About 7 of the boys on their team are local and the rest out of town. Doesn't detract from the fact they are probably the best 16U team in the country and quite impressive to watch. They are an incredibly sound and fundamental team. The men in red uniforms down at GABP could probably learn some things watching these boys (or a good girls' softball team, for that matter).

Paul will be going to Thomas More College and yes he will be playing baseball for them.

The only local player from NKY is Hunter Jones. The rest are from the Cincy area. The pitcher that three-hit the Colonels tonight goes to Princeton H.S. and indeed just completed his sophomore year. And, yes, I promise you they are a legit 16U team, though I am certain that some of the boys have since turned 17 after the legal age cutoff date of April 1, just like all 16U teams.

The Ky Kings beat that team 5-0 last week and yes they are a 16U team. Hunter Jones was playing 3rd for the Redskins which has 12 draft picks on the roster. The Ky Kings lost to the Redskins 7-2 in the semi's of the OVC. The Indians are 90% local with only 4 out of town players.
