I'm glad Kobe and Lebron don't do that. It probably would be boring...but, it would still be more exciting than the Spurs.:D

Exxageration; an overstatement: His statement concerning the size of his income is a gross exaggeration.

Most people recognize it when they see it. You know what I mean. Kobe and Lebron take a lot of shots, score a lot of points. That is not any more exciting to me than unselfish team basketball. I don't care about a flashy superstar when I watch basketball.

Watching the out-of-control turnovers and selfish, horrible shots is very appealing to some. For me, I'd rather watch the picks, backdoor screens, and solid (not flashy play) of the Spurs. As well as the disciplined defense rather than all of the steal or block shot and that's it crap that most teams play.

How did this myth get created that the Spurs are the only team that plays fundamental basketball, while the rest of the NBA is a bunch of freelancers, with no structure just playing pickup basketball like they're on a playground?

There is a misconception that fundamental basketball has to be boring and the Spurs are boring, therefore they must be fundamental.

Team basketball means everyone working together to do what gives their team the best chance to win the game...sometimes that means a certain player or two will take a large share of the shots. It's nothing to do with ball-hogging, it's doing what gives them the best chance to win.

Thinking the Spurs are boring also has nothing to do with the fact that they don't have Kobe or Lebron on their roster. Take the Jazz for instance...I think they're a pretty exciting team to watch. Does that mean Deron Williams is a flashy superstar?

Exxageration...I couldn't find that word in the dictionary. But, I did find "exaggerate" and it means the same thing. Perhaps that's what you meant.

How's this for an exaggeration?

I don't enjoy watching Gregg Popovich run his day-care while Bruce Bowen and Cheap Shot Bob trip, hip-check and horse collar their way to victory.

Yes, I'd much rather see Kobe KO somebody with a flailing elbow to the head...:sssh:

You didn't look hard enough. I accidentally pushed 'x' twice. But there is a dictionary wih "Exaggeration" in it.

I have never seen so many people whine about a little contact. This is a sport, there will be contact, get over it.

Then what makes San Antonio boring?

Is it their outstanding defense?

Is it their extremely quick point guard who can shoot the mid range jumper and take it to the basket consistently?

Is it their shooting guard who can knock down the three, the mid range jumper, and take it to the basket consistently?

I think some of you need to take a lot at the stats sheet. Kobe takes a lot of shots? As much as he supposedly "hogs" the ball, there are still 3 other Lakers averaging double figures a game.

Kobe's Stats through the playoffs:

FG: 49%

3 pt: 27%

FT: 81%

RPG: 6

APG: 7

TO:3.5

PPG: 33.3

I'd say having a 49% FG average while averaging 33 ppg and 7 apg is far from hogging the ball. If anything he's the reason the Lakers keep winning and WILL be the reason the Lakers defeat the Spurs.

I made the statement without doing research. I've seen Kobe take many shots with a hand in his face while his teammates are wide open. No evidence, no proof, sorry. It's just what I've seen with my own eyes.

Oh, and if the Spurs win, this quote will be remembered. :D

Just letting you know. Kobe may take a lot of shots in your eyes but they must be high percentage shots considering his fg % is 50% (rounded up from 49.5). And Kobe's teammates are benefitting the most from this. All three players who average double figures also have a FG % of 50% or higher:

Pau Gasol:

PPG- 20

FG- 57%

Lamar Odom:

PPG- 16

FG- 52%

Derek Fisher:

PPG- 12

FG- 51%

On a side not, Sasha Vujacic and Luke Walton are both shooting better than 45%. (46% and 54% for Walton). I'd say Kobe is running this team pretty well.

Oh and IF the Spurs win the series, I'll be more than happy to eat crow if you wish to quote my previous post before this one.

I'll admit that I watch hardly any NBA till the playoffs and even less so this year. But from what I have seen, the Spurs play with more fundamentals than any other team in the league, by a good margin. But you all watch more than me

That's saying a lot since San Antonio's top 3 have won a few championships together.

Don't matter to me. I'll take Kobe-Gasol-Odom over Duncan-Parker-Ginobli all day.
