Lakers in 6...

All of the above you mentioned for the Lakers (besides Turiaf) have been providing 3's off the bench as well. The Spurs bench has more experience, but does that make their team "a lot better all around"? Not even close. I will take the Lakers Top 3 over San Antonio's and all their starting 5.

 

That's saying a lot since San Antonio's top 3 have won a few championships together.

During the playoffs, I honestly believe the Spurs have a better bench.

 

Robert Horry, Michael Finley, Kurt Thomas, and recently Ime Udoka has been providing with 3's off the bench. The can give good minutes and still score.

 

The Lakers have Luke Walton, Jordan Farmar, Ronnie Turiaf, and Sasha Vujacic.

 

Lakers may be younger with the bench but I still think the Spurs have the better cast when it comes time to win in the playoffs.

 

I agree. The Spurs have a lot of veteran guys who've been through this before and played in numerous big games. Other than Kobe and Fish, the Lakers don't have any big game experience. If the Spurs win this series, their experience will be the deciding factor, IMO.

 

I really think the benches are pretty close otherwise. The Lakers guys play well at home, but they haven't learned to deliver on the road yet. It's possible the Lakers will win Boston-style and defend the Staples Center 4 times...however, game 7's are different. And, that's why I picked the Spurs in 7.

 

I've been expecting this matchup for a few months now and it's finally here. (I was also expecting Andrew Bynum to be playing.)

 

I sure hope the Lakers win...somebody has to save us from a possible Spurs vs. Pistons NBA Finals. I'd rather watch paint dry. I still have nightmares from their first finals matchup...:scared:

 

Actually, that last sentence was a lie...after watching part of one game, I realized I was torturing myself, and I've never really been into that.

 

On a related note, my wife acts like she likes the Lakers because I do, but secretly, I know she's pulling hard for that Pistons/Spurs matchup, so she won't have to watch any more sports for a while.

Manu and Tony are always slashing to the basket, Bruce Bowen, Finley and Udoka can hit the three, and Duncan can go for 25 points and 20 rebounds like it's nothing in the playoffs. What is not to like about that? That is good basketball.

I'd hope any NBA fan would watch, it's the conference finals! I just hope the Spurs don't come out sluggish...

I really can't figure that out either...Parker and Ginobli are two pretty exciting players, so you'd think the Spurs would be as well. Maybe it's the drab black and silver colors...I don't know. Of the good teams in the NBA, the Spurs are easily the most boring to me.

That's my general consensus as well, but I'm going to watch the whole game tonight and see what I think.

I'm glad Kobe and Lebron don't do that. It probably would be boring...but, it would still be more exciting than the Spurs.

Watching the out-of-control turnovers and selfish, horrible shots is very appealing to some. For me, I'd rather watch the picks, backdoor screens, and solid (not flashy play) of the Spurs. As well as the disciplined defense rather than all of the steal or block shot and that's it crap that most teams play.
