1. These Lakers don't have Shaq but they have a more versatile player in Gasol who can be just as dominant and oh he actually makes his foul shots.

 

2. Experience will beat out youth in a big game (game 7) any day. If you look I wasn't one of those talking about the Hornets when they got up 2-0. Getting up 2-0 was probably bad for them because being inexperienced they didn't know how to finish.

 

3. Ginobili hasn't been that successful against the Lakers anyways. He averaged just 14 ppg against them this year which is his 3rd lowest average when it comes to Western Conference teams.

 

4. Weak competition? When you finish with the best record in the league aren't you supposed to be rewarded in the playoffs. Also the Spurs were 4-4 during the regular season against this weak competition that you speak of where as the Lakers were 5-3 against the Spurs first two opponents. :sssh:

Gasol isn't PHYSICALLY as dominant as Shaq in his prime but there's no denying he is an all star caliber player who could put the Lakers on his back if need be. He is also much more versatile than Shaq was. Never once though did I say he was better. You aren't giving Gasol enough credit though.

 

Sure Ginobili would have made a difference but do you honestly think he makes enough of a difference to overcome a 21 point deficit? I doubt it. Ginobili is a good player but IMO he isn't even one of the top 5 players in this series. I'd put it something like this: Bryant, Duncan, Parker, Gasol, Odom, Ginobili.

Almost every player in the NBA whines about something or another during a game. It's apart of the game. People don't like contact, some more than others. It's not something to debate about though as adults.

Never said they weren't. I personally think the Lakers will win but it will take 7 games because Spurs are really tough at home and vice versa. If the Spurs had homecourt, I'd probably take them in 7, but I just don't see Kobe being denied on his homecourt in a game 7. He's the MVP for a reason.

Robert Horry, Michael Finley, Kurt Thomas, and recently Ime Udoka has been providing with 3's off the bench. The can give good minutes and still score.

 

The Lakers have Luke Walton, Jordan Farmar, Ronnie Turiaf, and Sasha Vujacic.

 

Lakers may be younger with the bench but I still think the Spurs have the better cast when it comes time to win in the playoffs.

All of the above you mentioned for the Lakers (besides Turiaf) have been providing 3's off the bench as well. The Spurs bench has more experience, but does that make their team "a lot better all around"? Not even close. I will take the Lakers Top 3 over San Antonio's and all their starting 5.
