Who will the Spurs put on Odom? I assume they will have Bowen on Kobe, but IMO Odom is too fast for Duncan or Olberto. Maybe it is possible that they will have Ginobli on Bryant and Bowen on Odom.

 

Odom will be the X-factor in this series IMO. As you stated, Odom is too fast for Olberto or Duncan but if the Spurs put Bowen or Ginobili on Bryant that is a mismatch all day. Ginobili is way too small and Bowen will be in foul trouble before the end of the first quarter because of Kobe's driving ability.

 

The Spurs really don't match up that well with the Lakers. Gasol is way better than Olberto and IMO evenly matched with Duncan. The Spurs willl have to hope Tony Parker has a very good series because that's the only place they have the advantage and it's by a very small margin considering how well Fisher has played.

I believe that Popovich may be the greatest NBA coach ever (arguably) and that he is better than Phil Jackson. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Spurs throwing a lot of different matchups (and elbows) at the Lakers for the whole series. Obviously I expect the Spurs to keep the game in the 80's and 90's as well.

I agree though the Pop will be throwing a lot of different matchups at the Lakers. The Lakers are the only team in the playoffs who have consistently played the same way they did during the regular season, averaging 110 ppg.

 

It will be very tough for the Spurs to keep the game in the 80's though considering the Lakers have only scored under 90 points ONCE this year and that was in a 90-89 loss at Detroit on the last day of January.

Lakers in 6. Kobe, Gasol and Odom are going to be too much for the Spurs.

Ginobili on Bryant is a serious mismatch. The Spurs will have to double Kobe everytime he drives leaving Gasol, Fisher, or Odom wide open somewhere.

Anyone and everyone knows that the defending champion Spurs play much better basketball in the playoffs. Ask the Suns and Hornets.

The colored goggles theories are hypocritical and ignorant IMO. There are plenty of Laker fans on this site who are just as biased, if not MORE biased than the few Spurs fans around. So why don't we drop the ridiculous and useless "colored glasses" comments.

 

I could say the same things that you said about the Spurs, only replace them with Lakers and Laker fans. Everyone here who has a favorite team is biased whether you like it or not.

 

Example:

Seriously, Laker fans should take off their yellow and purple goggles and realize their team is about to face off with the DEFENDING CHAMPIONS. The Hornets are a much different team than the Lakers. The Hornets might have exposed some weaknesses in games 1, 2, and 5, but did you notice how the Spurs adapted? Spurs lose games 1, 2...adapt...dominate games 3 and 4. Lose game 5 away, dominate game 6 at home and then finish the Hornets off on the road. The Spurs might lose this series, who knows? But I will not count them out until it's over.
