I find it weird that you talk about unity and the offensive linemen going to their buddies house to eat. What is the little corner doing? Sitting at home? If your a football team and your trying to build unity, and trying to brag about how unified your team is, wouldn't you include everyone? I thought football is a team sport and I would imagine that had to come accross someones mind over there in the Ft.

Actually Dougy, players by position going out together as a group is a pretty well established practice in football in the college and pro levels (although every now and then the qb will try to buy his way into the o linemen group because he knows they protect his 6:D). While there are considerable "entire team" events, its not real practical to have an entire team show up weekly at dinner events. The o linemen have been doing this for a couple of years now and based on past results, I don't think it has negatively impacted team unity at all based on Highlands results.

 

And I hope the little corner is going to dinner weekly along with his other little corners and the defensive back coach developing camaderie and talking defensive coverage philosophies. And the same goes for the other positions too.

 

And don't you worry your brain one dang bit about what has or hasn't crossed our minds in little old Ft. T. The results of our program should indicate our football minds are working just fine. LOL.

As LN said there are quite a few functions the team does as one big group. My favorite was when they all get together in Louisville and hold that big trophy above their heads. Now that's team unity.
