LRCW Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 A couple of months later than I expected. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080423/SPT04/304230046
HOMELESS CAMEL Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 No surprise, all of us that have followed the Reds have waited for this shoe to drop for quite a while.
ColonelCrazy Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Odd timing, but I like the move. Walt Jocketty is one of the best in the biz. With that said, did anyone watch Krivsky get interviewed during the game on FSN the other day? He wasn't happy. Will he remain with the Reds?
gametime Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Took longer than expected, but it's about time...
malachicrunch Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Took longer than expected, but it's about time... I thought you liked him and his "plan".
gametime Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 I thought you liked him and his "plan". The bad contracts were piling up, and Jockety is a better GM...
malachicrunch Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 The bad contracts were piling up, and Jockety is a better GM... No doubt. But you sure gave me a lot of grief last year about him.
gametime Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 No doubt. But you sure gave me a lot of grief last year about him. The rebuild of the lower levels was an absolute must, and I'd consider that task pretty much complete. I fully supported that task, and now it's time to win on the big league level...

Bandit29 Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 What will be some of the first moves Jocketty will make?
letabrotherspeak Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 I heard back in the winter he was charged with getting a 5th starter and he had to get it done...or something with the starting pitching... If not he would be done in January... Not unexpected, and Bob wasn't selling enough produce to keep up with the bothced contracts.
malachicrunch Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 The bad contracts were piling up, and Jockety is a better GM... As much as they have eaten, they are still carrying bad salary. It will take some work to get that straightened out.
gametime Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 As much as they have eaten, they are still carrying bad salary. It will take some work to get that straightened out. Agreed...
gametime Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Jockety has move #1 on his plate this afternoon with the return of Ross...
Baseballguy Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 ^ Whats your guess, do they do with 11 pitchers?
