Justin Burke leads NC State Red White game.

Featured Replies

Burke could not have scripted a better start to his day, as he hit his first five attempts and led two touchdown drives in the second quarter taking over for Wilson on the White team.

Burke led all quarterbacks, throwing for 191 yards on 17-of-24 passing. He was 7-of-9 for 91 yards.

Nice to see Justin do so well. It's nice to see Kentucky talent do well at the D-1 level! Especially at QB!

That's great news! I know everything didn't go as scripted with Tressman leaving when he got there. Justin is truly one of the best kids to ever represent our state! I hope he blows everybody away this year!

Thanks for the link stick.:thumb:

Is he going to be the starting QB?

Anyone have an update on where he stands on the spring depth chart

I'm pretty sure its still very much up in the air with NC State. They have an incumbent QB, a new guy, and Justin competing heavily and judging from last year, they might take awhile to hand this position to one guy. Good luck to Justin, know this kids family and him and they are great people.

IF they go with Justin they will be happy, one of the nicest kids that I have met in KY football that was so good, very heady. Even Better his dad is a Morehead State Guy I believe.

I wish he was wearing a Kentucky uniform but oh well, hope he does well!!!

Justin Burke appears to be 4th string now. There are 5 qbs on the roster and 3 are still fighting for the starting spot. He's not one of the 3.

That appears to be a mistake after seeing the stats. Good luck to Justin.

The other main news coming from practice Tuesday was that the quarterback race for the starting position has narrowed from five to three. The writing was on the wall when redshirt junior Harrison Beck and redshirt sophomore Justin Burke did not participate in the second scrimmage Sunday night.

Freshman Mike Glennon completed 13 of 25 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown but also had three interceptions in that scrimmage. Redshirt freshman Russell Wilson was 5-of-14 passing for 60 yards and a pick. Fifth-year senior and returning starter Daniel Evans completed 6 of his 8 attempts for 89 yards and a score.

"We're going to go with the same three guys," O'Brien said. "It's down to those three and we are going to give them the work Friday night and see where it goes on Saturday.

You dominate the spring game, and then don't even get a chance in the fall.
