They have been mediocre at best the last couple of seasons. They could be awful. The running game once a strength has become a weakness. I think the secondary will be a stronger part of the team LB is a huge ?? LJ leaving will hurt DL could be improved with the new guy from Tenn. and a 1st rounder OL- I disagree with you there. I think they are mediocre at best. QB- is the strength, unfortunately can't do it all Management- the true detrimiment to the franchise is Mike Brown
April 16, 200818 yr Maybe. If he doesn't, the Giants pass rush won't miss a beat. C'mon now... The Giants won't be completely the same without Strahan...
April 16, 200818 yr The Marvin Lewis era ends with this schedule. They should put that on the official website or at least on the 2008 yearbook. That sums it up pretty well.

I think a better descriptor of the secondary would be "young" not "bad".... Those guys performed decently whent they got PT... I think there is potential at LB...
April 16, 200818 yr C'mon now... The Giants won't be completely the same without Strahan... Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora will man the defensive end positions. Those are both pro bowl caliber players.
April 16, 200818 yr Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora will man the defensive end positions. Those are both pro bowl caliber players. Yeah, they're good players... Michael Strahan is going to Canton... You don't simply never miss a beat when you lose a player like that...
April 16, 200818 yr Yeah, they're good players... Michael Strahan is going to Canton... You don't simply never miss a beat when you lose a player like that... Everyone loses hall of fame players eventually. Good players step in and fill that role. That's how teams stay on top... If Strahan leaves the Giants may not be as dominant as they were last year rushing the passer. But they could be. It's not like they're replacing him with a scrub. They would be replacing him with a guy who many thought should have won the MVP of the super bowl.

April 16, 200818 yr Hey YOU....Bengals thread....don't be drawn in to all the negative talk about the Giants  There are 100 Bengals threads, it won't hurt to discuss another team in one of them from time to time.
April 16, 200818 yr  There are 100 Bengals threads, it won't hurt to discuss another team in one of them from time to time. We don't know how to talk about a successful team. So take it somewhere else:D

April 17, 200818 yr There is still a reason the Giants won the super bowl. It wasn't just luck. Their defense was one of the best in the league last year. Not too many teams could stop that Giants pass rush. Is it possible to mention the Giants in any way, shape or form other than declaring them the greatest team in NFL history that you won't take offense to? The comment about Cincinnati having a better chance against New York on the road was tongue-in-cheek because of the huge difference between the Giants home and road performance last year. I thought that would be pretty obvious, but... I never said the Giants got lucky...while I didn't pick them to beat the Patriots, I said several times during the season that their team makeup was one that would be most likely to knock the Patriots off. Nobody is saying they aren't a good team...they won the Super Bowl for goodness sake. And, despite the fact that they won the Super Bowl, they still lost 2 out of 3 games to Dallas last season, so anyone that feels like Dallas is better than them has something to base it on. Just because I didn't bow down to the Giants and pick them to massacre the Bengals with their practice squad next season doesn't mean I'm trashing them...Geez!
