I have a million, what to do's, floating around in my head and I can't imagine what I would do, as either coach, in a situation as this. I think that Anderson needed to empty their bench and hopefully they did. I think I would have turned my team around to the opposite side of the plate. It should not have been bunting or bating practice. You want to make me mad as a coach, beat me into the ground and then start bunting everyone IMO bad move. Nor should it have been time on the mound for the starting pitchers. Throw your pitchers on the side in between innings. Bring in some kids that don't pitch. Play your players out of position. You don't have to throw in the towel, but I feel you have a responsibility to help stop the bleeding. You also don't have so publicize your choices in helping relieve the pain.

All good thoughts... do whatever you can to limit the onslaught. This may have been a time where the KHSAA doesn't even post the score. I guarantee that at some point the AC players started to be very uncomfortable with what was transpiring.

Baseball 2008 not counting the Anderson game 0-4 (0-5 counting the Evangel Christian game not on the scoreboard) outscored 7-62

And it will be equally wrong next year should someone decide to humiliate their opponent by 8 TD's in a baseball game.

Sorry, but we aren't talking about any of your teams or your storied career in this post. THE AC coach, knowing they had a 7th grader, three 8th graders, and five freshman still pounded this team into submission. Almost as mind blowing is the thought that the Eminence coach left his starter in for 32 runs. You can't put into words how awful this makes high school baseball in Kentucky look.

I've never even heard of something this out of hand. As a player I'm not sure which would be worse, losing that badly or the team having to not play hard at all just to finish the game out. I think the only ones to blame though are the coaches for letting it get that bad especially if it was already 32-0 after 1 inning.

Then when everyone finds out they pulled the starters in the second quarter, ran off tackle the entire second half, and Team B kept fumbling in their end of the field making for short drives, everyone backs off.

I certainly wasn't there and wouldn't have stayed if I had been, but you've got to admit a 58-0 baseball game is about like a 250-300--0 football game; and both are very preventable!!

Are you sure the AC coach was aware of the age of the players at Eminence? I'm guessing no, as in baseball its not always something that is kept track of by opposing coaches, especially on teams like Eminence.

 

Like The Scribe said, I'm not passing judgement until I hear everything about it, but I'm guessing the odds are the JV was playing after the first inning and Eminence booted, kicked, and threw the ball over the field.
