I hope the Anderson County coach is proud of himself. Something liike this should never happen.

They must be playing because they have to for district seeding purposes. I just hope that they are not using "most runs scored" as a tie breaker. It those kind of things that lead to embarrassing scores in high school sports.

 

Anderson, Shelby and Spencer no doubt voted to seed I would think.

 

Eminence did win a regional baseball title about 15 years ago and then ran into St. Xavier and Paul Byrd in the sectional at Elizabethtown.

This was ridiculous, the Anderson County coach should be ashamed of himself. How could you sleep, knowing you flat out embarrassed a team like that. All I can say is karma can be a pain. But on the other hand Hilltopper is right. Eminence should do something about the coaching situation. I don't care if you only have 375 students in your school, you have to be able to teach the basics, and the basics will never let you get beat 58-0.

Would say, 28-0 be acceptable? Where do you draw the line. I would rather lose 100-0 than to have my opponet striking out on purpose, etc. In my opinion that is showing your team up more than any amount of runs. I'm sure the Eminence players would really feel better knowing that they finally got out of the inning because their opponet let them. In my opinion that would be more of an embarrasement than any spread in the score. At least let me know that when I get somebody out it was legitimate.

This shows how good Anderson really is! Now I'm sure everyone in the state is scared out of their mind. I mean if they can beat Eminence like this...there's no tellin' what they're capable of!! :lol:

22 years ago I believe, 1986. Pretty impressive, considering Shelby County was pretty strong that year, if I remember correctly. Eminence was very well coached.

Thery are the ones who allowed the 58 runs, who else are you to blame? Maybe they should schedule Knott County Central since they lost 35-0, it could be a good match-up. I'm sorry, but there is no way a team should give up 58 runs, period!

:thumb: How about working on BUNTING?!?! IMO there is nothing wrong with, when a runner walks gets a hit, etc. trying to bunt him over to 2nd, and then to 3rd, etc. If they are having trouble fielding and executing the out due to the bunt then you, as the coach, can always tell your guys to "ease up" down the line and focus on the placement of the bunt.

 

58-0 is uncalled for if anything that came from the mound could be reached with the bat.

 

I have done this in the past myself. I think this is a much better option than having your players K on purpose. Most players need to work on their bunting skills anyway and don't usually get any game experience at it. Bunting in BP is a lot different than in game situations. This would have been the perfect opportunity to get some bunting work in, especially for those 3-5 hitters that don't get that bunting opportunity very often. Even a clean-up power house needs to be able to lay the ball down at times.

And there is no way a team should run up the score in the manner in which Anderson did. Yep, Eminence - who apparently is required to play Anderson - was very clearly overmatched. No doubt about it. I'm willing to bet they'd be lucky to have one player that could play for Anderson. On their best day, they probably lose to Anderson by 2 TD's. Sounds like the Eminence coach was an idiot for letting his starting pitcher stand out there and give up 32 runs. Howver, NONE of the above excuses a team from doing what Anderson did to the Eminence players. Period.

I have not seen Eminence yet, but i would be willing to bet that they have several 7th,8th, and 9th graders on their Varsity team.

They have 1 seventh, 3 eighth, and 5 freshman on the team!!!!!!!!!!
