I don't. I pull him, I don't even think it would be an option.

If he's feeling good I absolutely bring him back out and see how the 8th goes.

You can't have a 5-pitch inning unless you go out there and throw the first pitch. Leave him out there. He gives up a hit, pull him immediately.

You have to leave him in, especially with a 3 run lead.

That would have been an awfully tough decision for Baker to make. I believe this early in the season, the weather that he was pitching in yesterday, I absolutely believe that he was right at the limit for number of pitches you want your young stud to throw. I pull him.

I was a lucky one that was there yesterday. UNBELIEVABLE !!!!! As much as I would like to see him throw a no no. Keep him at his pitch count and pray that this is a sign of things to come for the next 10 years. Had seats in the 300 section and he was popping the glove. 95-95 mph consistently... it was a cold nasty day. What a debut. I'd bet there will be more that 12,000 at his next start. :thumb:

To clarify, in that case I would let him try for the no-no. My point is that you don't want Baker to start riding Cueto for tons of innings all through the season. I've lived through the heartache of the rise and fall of Wood and Prior and I would hate to see that happen to another young arm because of mismanagement.

And as has been pointed out before. Woods had arm problems before Baker got there, and Prior's problems came from colliding with someone.
