April 3, 200818 yr Has Massiello had any experience as a HEAD coach at anything???? Much less a decent Div. 1 program???? Do you need it to become a head coach if you've been an assistant under Rick and he gives his seal of approval? It doesn't seem like it.

April 4, 200818 yr Haven't heard this announced yet. Any insight? Louisanna State is waiting on the hiring of a new Athletic Director. No coach will be hired (officially) until a new AD is hired.
April 5, 200818 yr LSU hired Duke's AD. Alleva or something like that. Kind of an odd hire...he was caught up in the Duke lacrosse firestorm and fired the coach, but really it was a call from the top. He also saw a highly successful womens hoop coach leave for Texas, I believe. May have been out of his hands too. What is rather curious is that they hired the AD that oversaw arguably one of the worst football programs to head one of the best ones.
April 5, 200818 yr Mixed emotions about this really, Ford makes it another U.K. guy that is now coaching in the SEC. I really like him but also want to kick his butt when we play them. As others have stated, all those coaches were not at U.K. but there are plenty of SEC coaches with Kentucky ties.

They did hire Dave Cutcliff this season, so maybe things will change for the Dukie football team. As for their womens coach leaving, it was basically a job that was very prestigious at one time and the coach who just retired from Texas was second all-time in wins in the womens game. Texas also provided for some very fertile recruiting ground. I really didn't see this one coming, however.
April 9, 200818 yr Looks like Ford is NOT heading to LSU!! He annouced yesterday that he was not interested in the LSU job. I'm not saying that some of you don't have reliable sources because I know at least a couple of you do but be careful when posting something when saying that things are for sure or set in concrete. You all know as well as I do the way things work in this business. Instead of posting something and saying that it's definately true, it's going to be announced tomorrow, or you can take it to the bank, try putting things in perspective and realistic terms. I enjoy reading these coaching threads but it getting difficult because of all the "rumors" people hear and post them like the word of the college basketball god or something. It's ridiculous. When posting on a rumor, just but it in realistic and perspective terms. It will keep your credibility intact also!
