April 1, 200818 yr How many walk-ons are we going to have? I have heard that BCG likes to carry a lot of walk-ons. The addition of Delph and Slone would make 6 in addition to Scherbenske, Coury, Perry, and Krebs. From what I am hearing there is possibly more to come.
April 1, 200818 yr Sounds like Billy Clyde is going to let every kid in Ky try to walk on. Good P.R. move and whats he got to lose. Some in state product may get the opportunity to realize a dream most kids in KY have from the time they are young.
April 1, 200818 yr The last PRP walk-on didn't last very long. Hopefully Mr. Delph will have an extended stay.
April 1, 200818 yr We are gonna have 28 players warming up  Can only dress 15 or 16. Don't remember which it is. I want to say 15.
April 1, 200818 yr Can only dress 15 or 16. Don't remember which it is. I want to say 15. Could see some of last year's walk-ons removed and replaced with these "preferred" guys.

April 1, 200818 yr Well, for one thing, with this crew of walk-ons I could see Scherbenske not returning. I don't believe he is of the "preferred" variety, so he will have to make the team. From what I know, that isnt terribly likely either. With this group of walk-ons already in place and possibly more to come, it could be an interesting set up on the bench. If the number of players to dress is 15, consider everyone is healthy then your 13 scholarship players will dress. That would only leave two. You can figure on Coury dressing with the love fest BCG threw his way. If it works out Mackey ends up with the team then he likely gets that other spot. If not, it could be an interesting battle for that last spot.

April 1, 200818 yr Can a walk-on redshirt?Yes. From what I've seen, Delph is a notch below Henderson and Slone.
April 1, 200818 yr Author I read in that same article that there will possibly be 2 more walkons, as well (Stepp and Henderson).
