Truck driver strike April 4th?

Featured Replies

No, but it sounds like a good day to travel.

Wow that would be wierd no truck drivers on the highways.

UMMM....our prices will go up more than what they already are. I hope this is not true!

Sounds like a ploy by Schwan's employees to recoup some of their lost profits.

I'll believe it when I see it. I dont think there will be that many that strike. Everyday that truck sits and isnt moving they are losing money and they can not afford to do that.

I know a trucker. He said, sometimes it doesn't pay for him to fill his tanks, because of gas price. He said people don't want to pay anything these days, and it costs him money to haul. He makes his run up around Chicago, and hauls mostly steel.

Didn't the truck drivers strike or do something when Carter was President and it helped end the so-called oil crisis at the time that had the entire country in a crunch?

I agree with them about fuel prices being outrageous and it really hits them hard. But this strike isnt going to do nothing but hurt their wallets even more. Not enough drivers are striking well at least as of this moment to make a big enough impact. If they were a little more organized and could get a lot of the larger trucking companies on board then they would have something going. But as of right now its not.

Even with fuel prices as high as they are there are drivers who make 6 figures a year. Its all about how smart you run.

I talked to a trucker Friday, he mentioned this idea, but said it likely wouldn't happen. He said it wouldn't help that much, it would help with the gas prices, but it would drive all other products up such as grocery store items and things of that nature.

This is just great. I guess this means I will have even more trains to deal with at work!:irked::irked:
