Someone was telling me the other day that UK Player Jared Prickett was living in the Ashland area. Is he a possible candidate?

As an '03 Blazer Graduate, I have to agree with this quote. I am and have been a Christian since before middle school. I even considered going to Rose Hill when I moved in. Some of you also know who my family is and know that my brother played AAU with OJ, Micheal, and Bill. So it's fair to say that I have a well rounded view. However, from a Christian stand point as well as a Coach's daughter's view...one does wonder how far Rose Hill will go for a top notch program. I realize winning seasons bring much needed money as well as prospective students, but PLEASE ASK YOURSELVES where you heart is when you go to HIRE a coach or TALK TO A KID AND HIS PARENTS about attending.

I am IN NO WAY saying that a talented kid can't have a heart for Christ. (Cause if that's true, then I have no clue why my brother YEARNS for God's word. He even went to Union College in Southern, Ky so he could grow stronger in his walk with Christ!)

What I am saying though, is to BE CAREFUL. THESE ARE YOUNG, MOLDABLE HEARTS. Please make sure your intentions are pure of heart because the ones who will be hurt the most (if not) WILL BE THE BOYS. These (high school) years are very important in how their habits and values are shaped and carried throughout life!

I wish you the best of luck in finding a coach that will fit your school's needs. I wish the players (now and future) the best in their walk with Christ. May you all grow to have a deeper relationship with the ULTIMATE COACH of our lives.

A word to the wise... rent and watch or re-watch "Facing the Giants." It's a wonderful movie that might help to put things in perspective. I know it did for me.

I was a student of Christian Schools until 7th grade(Beka Book and the A.C.E. program) and it gave me an outstanding, solid base for high school and college. The MAIN focus of the school was education, but we did have sports. There is no doubt in my mind that RH started out that way, but from an outsider looking in it seems they lost their way when OJ transferred in.

Get back to educating kids and if GOD wants you to have a succesful basketball team, RH will.

What a condescending post.

I said this when Mayo left Rose Hill in 2003 ... Rose Hill was used in that process. The school was used for some guys to stroke their egos by placing certain players there.

Rose Hill, as much as anyone else, was taken along for the ride.

westsider,

Please re-read my above post. I was in A-Town during the Mayo era and from both views...yeah, Rose Hill got played like a fiddle, but those kids were played first! I didn't feel bad one bit when my brother's friends left cause at that time, it was for the best. This is why I ask for PURE HEARTS and the BEST OF INTENTIONS when you HIRE a coach and TALK TO KIDS AND THEIR PARENTS about attending. They end up getting the brunt if hearts aren't pure. They are learning and shaping habits and values to be carried throughout life. Adults should hold this in high reguard when considering the best way to proceed.

What a condescending post.

Really.

If you knew OJ's handlers and how up front they were about how things would be done around OJ then you know there is no way Rose Hill didn't know what they were in for.

I speak from experience with his "uncle", mother and father(who there is no relationship with anymore) on the AAU circuit.

So call me "condescending", but I have had experience with that traveling circus known as OJ.......have you?

Really.

OJ came to Rose Hill as a talented 6th grader. The circus didn't start until after national telivision and spot light help make it what it was. To say that Rose Hill had any idea what it would turn into is very inaccurate. Nobody in this area has ever seen anything like the OJ comet. The OJ circus you encountered was nothing close to that when he first came to Rose Hill. There was no "circus" in the beginning.

OJ's "handlers" did not start making requests until they thought they had some

"bargaining chips". And that was a big reason OJ was taken away from Rose Hill (I think it was right after he said he intended to win 4 Kentucky state championships) when it became obvious that Rose Hill was not going to play that game.

Albright, says Alright enough already!

Let's go buy some Rose Hill inflatable punching dummies at Wal-Mart and take our best cheapest shot that we can. Seriously, is all this rhetorical religious bashing really neccessary?

To my knowledge Rose Hill does not have a secret gay agenda, guns in their locker rooms, gangs in their hallways, bomb threats being called in, and etc...

Is Rose Hill or LCA or Lexington Catholic perfect? Far from it but it sure beats whats taking place across America in our public schools. Wanted to add this, that there are great people in the teaching profession in public schools but they are forced to allow alot to go on for fear of being sued or fired.

Does anyone really know who is going to be the next possible coach?

I don't think anyone on here really knows who the next coach is going to be. From what I have been told from a couple of people close to the RH program (and yes I have friends at RH) Barnes (Ty and/or Chris), VanHoose (I understand is back in the picture) and Bush.

Those, I have been told, have either shown interest in the job or RH has interest in them.

Again, I don't pretend to know who it will be, but would be shocked if not one of the above mentioned.

I may be wrong, I have been before so it is nothing new if I am, but I dont think you will see any of those 3 as head coach.

You may be right. Those are names that I have been told are being considered. I have learned working in sports in this area, that anything can happen and rumors are as wild as a Dick Fick highlight video.

I love that one!:ylsuper:

Regardless of what anyone says, Coach Fick was great for Morehead Basketball and the area. Cooksey is a close 2nd.

Didnt mean to get off the thread, RH's decision may shock people??
