None of the girls are leaving! So let's nip that in the bud. The Lady Royals will be very competetive next year. Why would any of the boys leave? The boys will be better next year as well. I would take playing five against five any day over two against five. As for coaches for the boys team the possibilities are endless...Charlie Baker is going to retire from the East Carter school system and is speculated to step into a gold mine at Rose Hill

They have no one to fill Clemons and Metz shoes. Clemons was probably the quickest kid in the state "Laterally".

 

Metz is only a junior this year. Here is Bath's projected starting lineup for next year: T. Maze, Lyons, Metz, Mabry & Trusty. I believe that they will still be a top 3/4 team in the 16th next year. Maze is more than capable of leading the point for this team with Lyons and Metz knocking down the threes. Mabry and Trusty are very solid down low. Mabry showed this season that he is more than capable of playing solid defense against anyone.

I also heard a month or so back, that Euton and Jackson were leaving,,,but they weren't the only ones. My source didn't elaborate and I didn't ask.

Chandler Maze was a senior he played about .20 mins a game. His brother Taylor that started all year will be a Jr. next year and he will be running the point.

This thread is about Rose Hill's coach resigning not about Bath County. Did he resign or not someone please confirm.

RH has also lost a 7th grader that enrolled somewhere else, not sure the reason, will there be more of them???? :devil:

They might as well build a new gym to go with their new team and new coach next season.

 

The team and coach has been rebuilt before and they succeeded just fine! My speculation is that they should be able to weather the storm of defections AGAIN! They may not be a top 5 team, but don't think about them in the bottom 5 either.

 

My issue is: like a rebuilt grill, after so many replacement parts and cleanups, how long can the grill continue to be reliable? You must break down and buy a new grill eventually.:banana: Can the basketball program be rebuilt for a third time to the glory it has achieved twice already with Mayo & Euton?

 

Lastly, why do kids keep leaving the school based on ... well, nevermind. I have only noticed that the only headlines RH has received lately is sports and not about a Christian education (I know athletics is one of the 3 statements!). Wait I stand corrected, I have read many numerous articles, in the past, about their fine theatre arts program/performaning arts for the community, but thats about it. :thumb:

I heard this last week but with all the controversy about players leaving I didn't know how much truth there was to this. I was told that an AAU coach would be a possibility for replacement.

 

Someone also mentioned another RH player may be leaving for personal reasons . . . anyone heard anything about this?

 

Sounds like there will be LOTS of changes at RH.

I heard something similar, but with more details. Things didn't play out exactly as expected a few weeks ago, but the move doesn't surprise me...

He called the team in yesterday to locker room and broke the news to the players. It is official.
