BigColonel Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Billy "The ACC needs more Teams" Packer needs to shut it. Of the, what he percieved to be too few, 4 ACC teams that made the field, ONE made the sweet 16. So much for his beloved power conference. I count 2 (or 3 if you consider the A10 a mid major, which I don't) mid majors in that field, Billy.
pallex32 Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Billy has always been on that banwagon. I agree, he need to shut his pie hole. Im gonna love it when UNC loses, lets see what he has to say when that happens.

HOMELESS CAMEL Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 I think one of the best stats I heard this morning was that the Southern and Sun Belt conferences have as many teams left (1) as the ACC does in the tournament. If you would have said that back in November, just wow.

If you would have said that back in November, just wow. Same goes for the SEC. Not much of a suprise as the SEC was admittingly poor this season. I never hold much water to the statement that the NCAA tourny proves one conference is superior to the other, but it has held true as far as what people perceived the conference strengths this season... Pac-10: 3 Big East: 3 Big 12: 2 Big 10: 2 ACC: 1 SEC: 1 Sun Belt: 1 Southern: 1 Conference USA: 1 Atlantic 10: 1
98NCCalum Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 So do you guys really believe these are the 16 best teams in the country?
gametime Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 So do you guys really believe these are the 16 best teams in the country? 11 of the top 16 in the RPI...
pigman Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 ^ Nope. Some got very good match ups and some got some favorable calls.
98NCCalum Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 11 of the top 16 in the RPI...That does'nt answer my question.
oldrambler Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Billy Packer needs to shut it. So, you are just now figuring out that Packer needs to shut up .......about anything ? I really think that statment and conclusion is the only one topic that I have ever seen on this board that everyone has agreed on .
oldrambler Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 So do you guys really believe these are the 16 best teams in the country? Has any Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA tourney ever had the best 16 teams in the country? ..................No, but this is a pretty good group and they have gotten it done on the floor .
DADDY CAT Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 They did what they had to do when they had to do it. They had to knock off Duke, G'town, UConn and the rest to get there. Best 16? Probably not. Earned their way there? YEP!
HOMELESS CAMEL Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 So do you guys really believe these are the 16 best teams in the country? A majority of the time, we aren't going to see the best teams in the country at this time in the tournament, just the teams that are playing well right now. Course that's always going to be the case, but if you wanted the best teams in the country, you would take away what makes the tournament so great. Would you rather hear story #28,921 about Duke and their amazing program OR a fresh story on a team like Davidson that many of us know nothing about. This tournament system has its flaws like anything else, but you can't beat the drama it provides every year.
gametime Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 That does'nt answer my question. What's the point of said question? There were a few upsets? Shocking revelation...
