It's an exciting extended weekend in Maysville. First the state championship game tonight. Then Monday we have George Clooney coming to town. Then Tuesday President Clinton is coming to the Fieldhouse. I wonder who'll get a better reception in the fieldhouse. My guess is the Royals if the bring back the 2nd state championship. This week all things come through Maysville

Holmes by 5 in a very close hard fought game... Holmes fought very hard this morning! I was a little worried when the Dogs went down 21-4 in the first... But they really did it to themselves (Turn-Overs)... They come out and play free tonight... I can't wait...

I think this will be a good one. Holmes looked the better of the two this morning with a great performace agaisnt LC. I wonder who Henderson is going to guard, maybe they will try and let him lock down on Middleton and put R. Johnson or Clark on Miller and give him some help. I think Henderson can shut down whoever he guards except for Miller and I think he could slow Miller down a little. Holmes has a lot of weapons and if Miller can lock down his man that is okay because somebody else can take over. Holmes won't play a zone like Tilghman tried and Shelby tried some. Hopefully they won't have to help too much off Miller and allow Setty and Middleton to shoot bombs away.

 

I think that Avery does a good job handling the ball and despite having 22 TO"s this morning the team handled the ball when they needed to and didn't allow Catholic a lot of easy buckets on TO's.

 

The key may also be Pittman. Where did he come from? Can he keep up his outstanding shooting from outside?

Im just guessing, but here are my thoughts...Henderson on Middleton, J. Johnson on Setty, and R. Johnson on Miller.

Miller is a great great player,and is going to get his, but most importantly you cant let Setty and Middleton go off. I think that is why you will see Arrez on Middleton.

Just hope Holmes has enough in the tank.

IMO this is big... I think it was huge that the guys like Clark finished around the basket this morning. In the early quarters against Painstville he struggled to do that and got pulled by Henley for a lot of the 2nd half. They don't ask a lot of guys like Clark and Nelson, but they have to be able to do 3 things, finish at the basket on offense, play solid post defense, and alter shots.

 

I think Holmes may have to shoot it a little better from the line tonight to beat Mason...

 

I think they have much better of a shot if they keep Miller shooting jumpers. Sometimes he seems content to do that rather than to drive or play in the post where it might be a little easier for them. But I do think that if you keep Middleton and Setty from hitting those threes it will be much easier to win the game. I can't see anybody but Henderson on Miller though. I just think that Henderson has guarded the best the other team has to offer regardless of size the entire year and don't think that will change now.

If Setty does not play it will be a totally different ballgame. If not for him they would not have made it through the first round. He would definitely be the difference maker. I did hear them say on the radio that he hurt himself somehow on a play but he continued the rest of the game.

I'm still waiting to hear. His mom and dad were very upset after the game led some to believe he is out but I havn't heard for sure. I'm not sure of the rule in high school but in college if you leave the bench your ejected and in high school if you get ejected you can not play the following game.

I don't see why Setty wouldn't be able to play. Yes, he got a technical, but you can still have a technical foul and play in another game. Isn't it 2 techincal fouls that a player will get ejected and not be able to play. Was Setty ejected from the ball game? If so, then maybe he's not allowed, but I didn't hear them say he was ejected.
