If you want an underdog go with Holmes Bulldog's. Sounds like Lexington Catholic or Mason County are the favored to win.

Jeffersontown for no particular reason other than they tend to come into this tournament as underdogs but get the job done, and that favorites rarely live up to their advance billing in this tournament.

Paintsville takes out J-Town.

 

I hope I do a better job picking horses this week than basketball teams.

After seeing the teams play today and having already seen Mason several times I believe the 3 teams with a good shot are LexCath, Holmes, and Mason. I believe Holmes will win it.

I agree. I would like to see Holmes win it all but I guess I'm a realist and since I see them play all the time I haven't quite realized how good they are yet. If they make it to the semi's and beat Lexcath, I think they win it all.

Saw LexCath for the first time today... That would be a tough match up for Holmes... But they have to beat Paintsville first...

Holmes and Lex Cath will be a VERY interesting match up. Very good chance they could wear one another out in the semis before the big game Saturday night.

Lexcath has a very good inside game in Novosel. That is where Holmes would probably struggle playing Lexcath. Holmes big man, (6'4 Terrence Clark) is more of a PF. I like Nelson's chances a lot better against Novosel IF Holmes and LC were to meet since he's much more of a physical defender.

 

With that being said though, I still think the state title runs through Lexcath or Mason Co, but if Holmes somehow does win Friday and Saturday morning, I think they take down Mason Co.
