No, it's good that it's here too, more people will see it, I just posted it in another thread. But I think you're right on that one, I don't think he will go there either. The way he talked sounded like UT and UK were at the top, since the others were all probably or maybe, UK and UT were definite.

Yes, he did sound nervous, and he didn't mention them himself, so it doesn't sound like they are still in it.

I really look for him to go to Tennessee.

One, and done? I'll admit, I've only seen him once at the sweet sixteen, but he didn't remind me of a one and done.

It may not be Hopson at all, if anyone is really familar with the 2ND region and University Heights you would understand! Maybe it's not that the coachs feel a certain way about Hopson, but the school itself! Everyone knows that Scotty is the best player in the 2ND hands down but no one is going to vote UHA too fast. His teammate should have been a close second to Scotty also!

All of you guys listen to what the Hopkinsville Tiger has to say about this issue. He hits the nail right on the head. Think about the mindset everyone has when privates play for the titles in different sports.

Mack? Swannagan? Moss? Victor? Barnes? Buckner? Cline?

 

How does Cline not get Coach of the year in his only 2 years at UHA, taking them to the sweet 16 & to the final 4 when they were not even considered favorites in the region. But takes over a Madisonville girls team, goes 10-16, and picks up the award in his first year there.

 

Is Terry the best player in the second region. Absoutely not. Does Terry play harder than Hopson 90% of the time. Absoutely. Now, throw in the fact that Hopson plays for a "successful" private school. There's your answer.

The 1994 program doesn't list the KABC winners. That was Greg Buckner's senior year at UHA.

 

In 1996, when Isiah Victor and Lamont Barnes were seniors, the 2nd Region player of the year was C.J. Pepper of Christian County. I believe Pepper signed with Arkansas State.

 

In 1998, Harold Swanagan tied for the award with Darren Price of Union County. Josh Mack won the award in 2006.

In my opinion, Terry is at best the third best senior in the region, behind Scotty Hopson and Tyshawn Edmondson.

It is my understanding that all coaches, head and assistants vote on the player of the year. Henderson for example has about 5 or 6 coaches, Christian County has 5 or 6 coaches, UHA, I believe has 3. Now Im not saying that one team voted just for their player but it might be the reason. I attended the state tourney, Hopson played worse than he did during the season, but still didnt "play hard" during the entire game. Miller didnt get after it either in their first game, but after that game he started doing more. Against Elliott I couldnt understand why he kept bringing the ball down the floor and playing outside. Elliott had no answer for him inside at all. I am from Region 2 and I saw Hopson play several games. Will he go to UK, I dont know. Will he ever get to the level of playing hard for the entire game? I dont know. Was he the best player in the region? YES
