Well, he isn't healthy right now, either. And the kid reportedly has an offer from St. John's, so I would think he would be a standout in any region.

 

Ive seen Edmonson play several times. And I do believe hes a very good guard. But IMO hes not as good as Shelvin Mack, obviously, Vee Sanford, Dante Stewart from Lafayette, Johnson from Dunbar, and Guyn by the end of the year at Scott Co. Hes still a great player, but he would not stand out in the 11th region.

Billy G looks for a few things first, toughness being one and I hear is not mentally tough at all, not good enough defensively, and at times lazy.

 

He maybe very talented and his skills are crazy but he won't fit with Billy G's style.

 

That's the player I saw at the All "A".

Nothing wrong with causing contact if you're driving to the basket on a guy that doesn't appear to have position on you. Unfortunately for Hopson and UHA, a couple of calls went against him in those situations.

 

Hopson needs to get somewhere where he can't get by on talent alone and has to work for his minutes. Then we'll see what kind of player he is.

Don't you think that any kid with Hopson size and athleticism would be a great high school scorer even if he couldn't shot one into a washtub. I have only had the chance to see him a couple of times and he shot the ball fairly well; appeared to be a man among boys and did not appear to play hard every play because he really didn't have to. I hope Billy G gets the opportunity to see if he can motivate him to play 100% on both ends on every play. Then again maybe playing with D1 athletes and competing for playing time will do the trick. The thing that seperates him from about every high school kid I have seen in Ky. this year is that he has the ability to choose how good he wants to be. 99.9% of kids who play don't have that choice.

His ankle isn't fine. It was obvious he was slowed by the injury and he appeared to feel some pain in it at times.

I for one, was not real impressed this afternoon. Thought he did alot of standing around, the hustle just wasn't there...IMO

When Hopson wants to play he is far and away the best player in the state. That is no knock on Miller. He is great and never takes a play off.

 

Not so sure on this one. Two extremely talented players. I give a moderate edge to Darius in ball handling and outside shooting, and a slight edge in strength.

You call it an excuse. I call it an explanation. Heck, I didn't known it until the game started, when a friend from Hopkinsville that knows the team well told me about it. He said it's been apparent the last few games, which explains in part why Edmondson wasn't scoring a whole lot during the regional tournament.

To me it says a lot about what other coaches think of him. I've heard many negatives to this highly touted recruit.

I was with BellAlum today at the Sweet 16. And before hand I was saying how I hoped that he proves me wrong and comes in and plays his butt off and puts on a show for everyone. That didn't happen. He was lazy. He never went to the offensive boards. Stood around on defense and did not run to floor hardly at all. Whoever gets Hopson has their work cut out for him to get him to play hard.

 

He looked like he could care less.

After watching Hopson play I think UK got the best player in Miller.

Well, he should know by now that BCG demands hard work. If he knows this, understands this, and is willing to do this, then I say welcome. But what I don't wanna see is kids come to UK and leave because they have to work their tales off.
