Scotty Hopson

Billy G looks for a few things first, toughness being one and I hear is not mentally tough at all, not good enough defensively, and at times lazy.

He maybe very talented and his skills are crazy but he won't fit with Billy G's style.

Hopson is good enough to play immediately at UK if he makes his mind up to play, but if he does decide he is almost good enough to be one year and NBA bound. Good luck to Mr. Hopson Wednesday he will have to be great to stand a chance!

Then why is Bill G spending so much time recently watching him play?

What are Josh Terry's college options like at this time?

Do you know Scotty personally?

I don't know, and in no means an I saying that Terry has the potential that Hopson has. I will say that Terry meant the most to his team in the 2 region. He is a 6'2 forward in KY high school basketball. He will probably go to a small college or JUCO

Don't foget as we learned last year in a similar type thread in girls' forum, some schools are not included in the voting if there school/coaches are not in good standing members of KABC. Don't know if this is case or not, but would explain a lot.

Hopson was also not included in the 2008 KABC East-West Senior Charity All Star Basketball Game. Representatives for the 2nd region are: Terry, Edmondson and Darnell Moore of Madisonville North.

I will be surprised if Hopson does not end up at UT..........although potentially getting more playing time and shots at UK could sway him.

It is hard to believe, but it does tell a story on what the coaches in their region think of Scotty.

I could see Hopson turning down the opportunity to play in that all star j.f. I believe high schoolers are only allowed to play in 2 or 3 of those all star games, and one is obviously the McD's game. I think it would be very likely that he plays in one of the other big ones like the Jordan game and if he were to decide to stay close by possibly the Derby. Nothing should be made of him him skipping that game.

I have doubted the philosophy on UK recruiting Hopson, but if BCG got Joe Crawford to become one of our best defenders I am not going to doubt that he could get Hopson to play hard on both ends.

The two guys that probably took most of the shots in JaJuan Smith and Lofton will be gone. T. Smith, Prince, Crews, Williams, etc. look to get more shots next year, but none of those guys are going to be a great pure scorer. Hopson is. He can get his shots in Knoxville as well.

In 1999 SC was ranked as high as top 5 in the nation and Rick Jones was Mr. Basketball, Hicks wasn't Coach of the year in the Regon and Jones wasn't player of the year in the Region.......

It may not be Hopson at all, if anyone is really familar with the 2ND region and University Heights you would understand! Maybe it's not that the coachs feel a certain way about Hopson, but the school itself! Everyone knows that Scotty is the best player in the 2ND hands down but no one is going to vote UHA too fast. His teammate should have been a close second to Scotty also!

Hopson is a pure scorer? Wow! UK definitely needs him if that is accurate.

Yes, he is, have you had the chance to see him play?
