Hammer is a good player but I dont think he will be a top 10 player in the Region. Now if we were talking best D player in the Region he would be in the top 3. :thumb:

I agree, I'd make No. 10 either Neal Pawsat or Treg Setty.

Neil Pawsat belongs in the 10 spot. Minus Treg Setty at this time, unproven and very limited minutes on the varsity level. He will eventually be a top player in due time.

Dont count the Hammer out if he can find shooting touch like he in Regional and learns to go north and south instead of east and west and drive to the basket he just might be in top 10. Be interesting to see if he can develop these skills this summer and he just might as he is such a hard worker.

Tiger1, I would agree with your top 3, but I might flip Brossart and Scott, or at least make them even...

You make a good point. I would make them even.

We were Regional Champs last year, but I was smart enough to know that by losing the likes of Preston, Tistian, Woody, and Robell that we should not be ranked #1 starting out this year, just because we were the Regional Champs. Mason loses their key players this year too. Mason will have to really adjust to not having Miller to go to. But if you want to wear the bulleye...go for it...I like flying under the radar. :D

Enlighten me on who Mason has returning ...Middleton...???

You must not have seen Downing during state tournament. He was a major factor for Mason County. And don't count out Ryan Hamm. You have talked about good freshman and Mason County has Pawsat and Setty coming in as sophomores and they will be good ones. Just wait.

I can't wait !

2008-09 might shape up to be like Millers soph. year !

SURPRISE !:flame:

Mind putting the schools everyone attends for those of us that dont know them all?

If you look at the date that I made that post it was 3-17. The State Tourney had not started yet. I will say that after seeing Mason in all but the final game of the state, that they will have a very competitive squad next year. I already knew what Russ could do, but Downing did impress me alot. I hadn't see the Hamm boy play much. I liked what I saw of him too. Did he get much varsity experience this year? The Mason Freshman will be good players, but just lack the varsity experience that 3 of GRC's Freshman have at this point.

The 10th will have several teams that could represent our region. At this point I don't feel we have a clear favorite like in years past, with Pendleton, GRC and Mason.

I didn't see when you posted that, so I do apologize. But I can see you agree with me that Downing came on very strong. He will definately be a factor for Mason Co. next season.

Hamm was the backup point guard this year and got limited minutes (maybe 5-10 a game?) but he took advantage of the minutes he got (example:region). If he gets stronger and learns to not dribble so much, he will be a good starting point guard for the Royals.

Clarks freshman do have more experience, but the Mason freshman do have ALOT of strong points and could make an impact this year. If Setty and Pawsat step up like I think they can, they will give Clark Co. a run for their money for the region, along with Scott, Campbell, etc.

Knew I hadn't heard much of the Hamm kid on here this year. Yes Downing did impress me alot...plays hard and smart. GRC has 3 players I know of that also play football, Rogers, Williams and Pervis. You won't see the real GRC till mid-Jan. Does Mason have any players playing football? Hey I never count out Mason Co....you beat us when Miller was a sophomore and wasn't picked to win the region...Pendleton Co was, we knocked them off. This years tourney is wide open. Should be a great one.

What will Mason schedule look like this year?

C'mon Gold - take the bullseye. GRC is the favorite. Several others aren't far behind though.

Really don't want the bullseye....like flying under the radar. :sssh: This coming season should be one of the best in awhile as several teams could win the region. I do expect by tourney time that your Indians will be in the mix too. :thumb: Your coaching staff has done a outstanding job this past year.
