I like this list. Its realistic, at least to start the season. Cambell WILL be tough next year. Love their coach. Clark is loaded, Mason may be rebuilding some, but they will be tough.

This year's "three freshmen" from the Royals BB team all play football. Pawsat is in line to be the Royals' starting QB next year; was the backup last season. Gilbert is a kicker and may be a backup WR next year as well.

 

I'm sure there are others that I've missed.

I agree with GRC4LIFE, as you knew I would...You do not have a freshman that can compare to Robbie Stenzel. He has proved on the varsity court the last two years what he can do. We have not seen yet what your Freshman can do in starting roles on the varsity level. Will they be better players over the next 3 years, yes, you all have a great program and coaching staff. I just believe it will take some time and adjustments after losing all the quality players you did this year. But hey, our young guns exceeded my expectations this year.

 

We need to bring this thread back up in mid-Jan and see how our predictions play out. Will also be interesting to see some teams and players not mentioned that has surprised many.

 

I think I have stated in all my post about the freshmen outside of Stenzel. I would hope the kid would be the exception, after all he received quality minutes as a 8th grader and played in a state tournament. As a freshmen, he was the go to guy, and he was on lock down in the semifinals of the regional tournament. I hope we can talk about this sometime later, but I have a sneaky suspicion we will be talking about a lot more than freshmen, as Mason County has a sophomore and junior class that is pretty darn good. Tradition never graduates in Mason County. There will be more balance in the region next season but I don't believe tradition ever graduates!

Heard an interesting statistic over the weekend, since 1960 Mason Co/ Maysville has played in the region final 63% of the time while at the Fieldhouse. There is 2 exceptions, 1969 and 2008 where the % jumps to 100%. Hello Northern Kentucky. Nice technical Preston.

Nice cheap shot. Atleast he's play D1 ball and being successful at that.

Lets just make it clear to everyone, that Robbie Stenzel is not a true freshman like these other players. Don't Compare him to Treg Setty, Neil Pawsat and Gilbert. Or for that matter Cory Rogers or Travis Pervis. :thumb:

Stenzel is enrolled as a frosh at GRC and he will be there (unless he ends up a prep school) for the next 3 years.

 

There is no reason to attempt to discredit his play. He will likely be around the 10th for 3 more seasons and he will only get better every day.

 

Everybody needs to deal with that one and raise their level of play.
