Plenty of false information here. Any involvement in fundraising is OPTIONAL. Each player is not EXPECTED to raise anything. All players in all sports and band participants are encouraged to tell people the story and ask for help. The ones that want to get involved will do so. About the tax donation, it was said in a very neat context by Mr. Babik, who ran the meeting. He said something like we all look for ways to come up with money for meeting special requests. And, how unusual it is to get unexpected money from the government. People might want to donate a tax rebate for one of their children.

This came from a Ryle football player parent .They said Warner held the meeting not Mr.Babik.Warner made those comments according to them .They also said the fundraising was not optional .

There is nothing better than a nice natural grass field. Field Turf makes the field avalible for so many more functions, not only football/soccer. Keeping a natural grass field in good shape limits the usability of the field. With turf the only problem is that you can use it so much that scheduling can become quite a chore. Will Ryle be allowed to rent the field out to other organizations to raise money for their athletics?

This new field is something that the Ryle community should/will be proud of. It will help Ryle elevate just about any sport/activity that the school offers. Congrats.

As someone very close to the program - fundraising has always been optional. Anyone who has ever fundraised knows it would be nice for everyone to participate but you have those we won't. It is amazing to me how many parents do not understand or realize how much money goes into a program whether it be football or any other sport. Many parents assume the school pays for everything and that isn't the case. It is very expensive to outfit a football team especially when you have 110 players.

That's great that Ryle might get turf. Can you please answer 1 question for me how can they get turf through a donation when a few years ago Shaun Alexander wanted to fund a turf field for Boone County but was not allowed the County said they would have to split the money among the 3 county schools at the time. Has this changed for donations to Boone County Schools ? If so that is great I hope Boone gets 1 to.

Indeed, Ryle has outperformed Highlands overall during the past couple of years and we should due to enrollment. But remember, we don't have kids move to Ryle just to play football. That may happen over the years with the breaking news story but that is a huge advantage that the Birds enjoy due to their tradition and success. More power to the Birds for running a great football program. However, I agree with cshs about overall., Ryle is on the way. Just take time to look at all sports, not just football. Why, even our "worst" sport that gets badmouthed a lot, boys basketball, beat the Birds the last 2 years.

Like I said ,I was wondering about other opinions on this .It looks like it may come down to interpretation .Maybe they understood what was said differently .I know they were there .I am not trying to bad mouth Ryle .They have a heck of a program going .Good day.

Again, read previous posts - Shaun was not going to fund the entire field. He wanted the BOE to fund 1/2 which they couldn't do. Ryle went about getting this approved the right way, got the right people involved and got it done.
