Mason Co vs Montgomery Co (10th Region Finals)

Featured Replies

I really don't think so Gold Sunrise. There was one guy from GRC that played a major role in that happening in 2007 and his name was Preston Knowles. I don't see any players from MOntgomery on his level.

I hope Montgomery brings a crowd because this one will probably be one of those games they will want to forget. Honestly, the defensive pressure, and shot selection will be tested. Mason won by 6, but you add the pressure of the stage and magnitude of this game. Mason by at least 12 tomorrow night. Short drive home for Montgomery Co. I bet your glad the region is at home this year.

I haven't been able to attend a regional boys game yet, but I'll be there tomorrow night. I haven't been in Montgomery's gym yet, so I'm excited to be there and to watch the game. It should be a good game, but I'll still take Mason by double digits, maybe like 10-15 points. I'm ready for this one! I won't have a problem getting tickets, as I'm getting them through the school, but something is keeping me from leaving Maysville until about 5:00 or so, so hopefully I'll be able to find a decent seat!

If Montgomery County expects to hang around in the championship game, they better hope they handle pressure better than they did at times tonight that Scott put on them. Dribbling the ball off their own feet, wild passes, really sloppy. I didn't think Scotts pressure was the best, and it really rattled Montgomery, and if Scott could score off the opportunities they had turning Montgomery over, this game is closer. Result was Scott turned it right back over.

Could someone fill me in on the status of Rash who left the game hobbling in the 4th quarter. Stephens was taken out of his game, fouling out with about 5:30 left in the game.

Championship game should be a good one, I think the team that has been battle tested the most wins this game.

Mason County 74

Montgomery Co. 60

Mason by 18

Mason County by 7 points and ruins the Indians first year of hosting the regional!

It is a BEAUTIFUL facility!

If Hendrix and Curtis both shoot well for the indians like they were last night aganist Scott High this one could be closer than 12 or14. Lots of things have to come together for the indians, Rash has to be aggressive with the ball and stay out of foul trouble. Stephens has to get every rebound and score. Stll has to hit his shots. Josh Clark has to hit shots and play 100%. All of the key players must stay out of foul trouble. This one could have alot to do with the refs, when Brandon Rash has to sit because of fouls the indians are not as dangerous. Just my opinon, take it for what is it worth to you.

I may miss this one. Church may win out in the battle for my attention. Maybe I can catch the 4th quarter if it's not sold out.

Anyway, I think Mason played better than I have seen them play all season agaisnt Clark Co yesterday. Also the Indian guards somehow find a way to get into foul trouble every game. That can't happen tonight. Brandon Rash must stay out of foul trouble because he is the only one who can guard Miller. I'm afraid Mason County could roll in this one if the Indians get in foul trouble or can't handle the Royals pressure.

Stephens can't foul out of the game like he did last night to have any hope. The big guy can't leave the game with 5:30 left and ahead 20 plus points. A lot of Hendrix's points came when they went and doubled down on the block and couldn't recover back to the wing against the zone. Hendrix has a nice touch.

Both teams have had great seasons, and whatever the outcome neither team has anything to be ashamed of. I just think the Royals pressure D will be too much for Montgomery as it has been for most teams in the Regionals. I'm gonna take the Royals going back to Rupp this year.

Mason- 78 Montgomery- 65

Mason by 6 in a battle.

Should be a close one the Indians by 1 + .

If refs protect Miller as they did last night , Mason will win by 15-20 points.
