Zachary had two fouls in the 1st quarter and fouled out late in the 4th. He scored 10 points, that's about all I know.

Lynn Camp is a good team with some kids that know how to score the ball. They have a shot against SL monday night. Bell picked the worse possible time to play one of their worst performances of the past few weeks. Missed probally 6-8 layups. Numerous Free throws and just did not play with much energy, especially early in the game. Had a few questionable block/charge calls that really changed the game. Zachery had 2 fouls in the 1st quarter and it really effected him on offense. Then with about 2 min left in the 4th he was called for his 5th on a very questionable block call in the lane when he was clearly set, (but we all know those things happen) with Bell down 1 and with Lynn Camp on the edge. From their on Bell turned the ball over on 2 of the last 4 possesions but still had a chance to win.

 

I got to watch a few Bell games early and now a few late. This team grew by leaps and bounds and clearly exceeded pre-season expectations. Good year for Coach Morris and co. and look out next year they will only get better.

Be nice to see the Corbin people get behind Lynn Camp a little. Be nice to see the Varsity Club invite Lynn Camp to next years C.F.I.T. show a little love.

Great win for Lynn camp. Congrats to Coach P and his staff. Lynn Camp has had a wonderful year. There next test will be SL. This will be a very difficult game for Lynn Camp. South has been there and is a very good ball club. I would think that south is a huge favorite, but you never know what can happen in these regional tournaments. I will say if Lynn camp has 35 turnovers against South they will have no chance. South is very good and does not make many mistakes.

35 turnovers against anyone will lose a game for you at least 99.0% of the time.

The real question here is IF Lynn Camp can keep doing what they have done all year when they are playing their type of game (and limiting turnovers to a minimum), and IF SL does not take the Cats chances seriously. LC is both capable of winning this game by a slim margin or losing by 20+.

I don't see a Steve Wright team overlooking anyone.

Neither do I, Les, but kids will be kids and LC does not have the most respect among people around here, especially in Basketball. Coaches can warn you about all the bad schools in the world having a good/great night, but the players sometimes think it's just "coachspeak".

I just don't see South players overlooking anyone either.

They've played too many big games and I've never seen them overlook anyone.

And, anytime you're playing someone in the region semi-finals, I don't think anyone will consider them a weak team.

Point taken, but LC will still be perceived as LC by many.

A great victory for LC, IMO this was not a huge upset at all. P'ville beat Bell without much problem, LC, other than the first peroid, played with Knox Central and Central smoked Bell, so not huge upset, just a big-time win. If they win over South, now that's a huge upset! In the regional tourney the draw is very, very, important and the new district aligments allow advancement to teams that can take advantage of it.

So, how about Lynn Camp's chances of going to the 13th Region finals?

Lynn Camp would have a 1 in 2 chance of making the 13th regional finals....1 in 4 of winning the Championship....theoretically speaking. Experimental probability is what actually happens on Monday night against the Cardinals of South Laurel.

Congrats to Coach Pennington and the Wildcats. He maybe the Bruce Pearl of Kentucky high school Basketball. It would not surprise me to see a bigger school that has been struggling come calling for his services. If Knox does not take care of him, I predict he is out of there after this season. Many do not realize taking an All A school to the semi's is like a big school winning the region. I know the Campers will be heavy underdogs to South in the next game. Anything is possible. I am sure Coach Wright has his ticket punched to Rupp as we type, but the Little General might have something to say about that Come Monday...lol

 

I really like the aggressive play of the Cats. They seem to have a never say die attitude and live on the edge. They are fun to watch and have a system of play. Most sports writers and commentators have no idea and think it is street ball, but the Wildcats do have a plan, scout and have worked their tails off to get this chance...who knows, it might be like the Movie Hoosiers.....just a different title....Campers......Coach Pennington has too much hair to be Norman Dale..but what the heck. A feel good story indeed.

1. Will Coach P wear a Pearl type bright orange blazer on Monday:cool:

2. If Knox takes care of him (whatever that means) they would have to take care of girls Coach Jones as well, they had a special season also.

3. As far as being small B'ville (two years ago) lost to South in the finals.

4. IMO hope he stays at LC, but what big struggling school do you know of thats after him?

Theoretically they are one of 4 teams that can make the finals at this time:confused: I think, this is like the other CATS test, so I'm now not sure.
