St. Henry is a team that traditionally plays Cov. Cath very tough. Brossert is another. I think most of the faithful who follow Cov. Cath. on a regular basis will be very surprised if the game Monday is not very competitive. While Villa isn't Mason County, they (Villa) have two very good players (Bryan & Love) who would be starting for most of the teams in the 9th Region. Although St. Henry was taken to overtime, a win is a win is a win, especially in the Regional Tourney. Much respect to the Cru. They are in the semi-finals because they earned it.

Covington Catholic 67-53.

Sounds way, way, way, way, way too familiar. Hopefully Coach L reminds the boys against the 05 squad with Votel.....

He better remind them of that game against Conner, I remember it very well played in game, and know one gave us a chance.:thumb:

I think the Conner game is what CCH5432 is referring to. And, at the risk of getting too far afield from the tread topic, I think Cov. Cath. took the Conner game in the 05 regional tourney very seriously, since Conner had darn near knocked the Colonels out of the regional tourney in 04.

Cov Cath by 20+, St. Henry does not compare to Cov Cath and will get blown out of the gym. :flame:

Every team typically has one tough game where they don't play too well in postseason play. The mark of a good team is when you can overcome that, win & advance to play again.

I think St. Henry feels fortunate to get past Villa & they'll be ready for Covington Catholic. With that said, I think the Colonels will be too much to handle.

St. Henry wanted CovCath and not Highlands, for what that is worth. They feel they do not match up well with McGraw and Simpson and feel they can match up with CovCath.

We'll see.

As a ""fan"" not Holmes fan,"fan" I don't think Simpson is as good as everyone hypes him to be. Simpson forces a lot of shots. McGraw!!! That's a bad man!!!:ylsuper:

Where are you getting this information? CovCath has a very talented first 5 or 6. Highlands a very talented backcourt and ok front court.

In my opinion they definetly wanted Highlands. If you can stop McGraw and Simpson (thats a big if) you can beat Highlands. If you stop Maile and Grimes you still have to deal with other talented players at CovCath, not to mention the Crazies.

Agreed. As I've said all year Henderson should be player of the year! But if McGraw wouldn't have sat and rested his back every so often (and I'm not saying he shouldn't have) he would be right there in votes with Henderson and right there in my opinion as the POY.

I think what he meant was St Henry doesn't do well against athletic teams. Highlands IMO is a more athletic team than Covcath with Mcgraw and SImpson in the backcourt. St Henry has nobody who can guard either of those two one on one. Covcath is more patient and fundamentally sound which is why they're so good. They play more of a style that suits St Henry than Highlands uptempo style.
