Rex is my first pick because of the info provided. It had been so long the info confirmed my belief stated earlier in the thread that I thought he might be the best. Mashburn, for some reason, seemed better than Patrick, not by much, but your stats don't seem to back my opinion except maybe on the 3's and a few other categories. Overall, I would put Rex first, Mash second, and Patrick third. A close third.
February 24, 200818 yr Think Patterson may break his record? He's got 396 and is currently in 5th place trailing only Bogans, Bowie, Chris Mills and Chapman. UK will play at least 6 more games (4 regular season and at least one in the SEC Tourney and one in the NIT/NCAA) that means he'd only have to average 11.3 PPG to get there and anything beyond 6 games makes it easier. I'd say barring injury he'll finish with the most points by a UK freshman ever.

February 24, 200818 yr As far as the scope of this thread, Patterson is the best since Mashburn, IMO. Best freshman to ever play for UK? I'm going to go old school and say Cotton Nash. I know, he couldn't play varsity back then, but as a frosh, I understand he was just incredible. (not too bad after his frosh year either ) From talking to old timers, I get the feeling Issel would be a close 2nd to Nash as Freshman player.
