February 17, 200818 yr Douglas-Roberts walked. Watch the replay. He spins (left foot is the pivot) and the pivot foot "hops" right before he shoots and is fouled. Did he lift his pivot foot?
February 17, 200818 yr Alright GT, it's been about 4 months and I'm getting back to you. Derrick Rose is not "The Man" of this team. Like I said, this is Chris Douglas-Roberts' team and he showed why tonight. This team could replace CDR with what they have on the roster. They couldn't replace Rose and be where they are. And that's as a guy that really enjoys watching CDR play...
February 17, 200818 yr Some real classy actions by both squads after the game. Typical of most Memphis/Calipari teams...
February 17, 200818 yr This team could replace CDR with what they have on the roster. They couldn't replace Rose and be where they are. And that's as a guy that really enjoys watching CDR play... I'm going to disagree with this. CDR and Rose are certainly the two most gifted offensive players on the team and this team would struggle big time in the half court without them.
February 17, 200818 yr Did he lift his pivot foot? Had he stood like a stork, he would have been alright. :sssh:
February 17, 200818 yr 5 or 6 losses? that might have 1-3 if they played on one of the big conferences but not 5 or 6. They are too good to have that many. Yeah, they are a very good team and have played as tough of a non-conference schedule as you can. They might have a few but not many. In fact, looking at their RPIs, their schedule has been as tough or tougher than a lot of the "Big 6" conference member's schedule: 3. Memphis--SOS is 28th 5. Kansas--SOS is 49th 7. Georgetown--SOS is 43rd 8. UCLA--SOS is 27th
February 17, 200818 yr Douglas-Roberts walked. Watch the replay. He spins (left foot is the pivot) and the pivot foot "hops" right before he shoots and is fouled. Yeah, you're right but awfully hard for the ref to see his pivot foot when the guy who fouled him is hanging all over him and is between CDR and the ref.
February 17, 200818 yr I'm going to disagree with this. CDR and Rose are certainly the two most gifted offensive players on the team and this team would struggle big time in the half court without them. GT is right. This offense doesn't get going without a strong penetrating PG. If the PG can't take someone off the ball, the offense is squat. He has implemented an offense that requires a Rose-type PG.
February 17, 200818 yr  Yeah, you're right but awfully hard for the ref to see his pivot foot when the guy who fouled him is hanging all over him and is between CDR and the ref. I didn't say it was an easy call that he missed. I agree with you.
February 17, 200818 yr Had he stood like a stork, he would have been alright. :sssh: I'm glad you paid attention. Once again, you are correct.
February 17, 200818 yr This team could replace CDR with what they have on the roster. They couldn't replace Rose and be where they are. And that's as a guy that really enjoys watching CDR play... So CDR's 32 points and 7 boards are replaceable, but not Rose's 6 points, 3 assists and 3 TO's?
February 17, 200818 yr So CDR's 32 points and 7 boards are replaceable, but not Rose's 6 points, 3 assists and 3 TO's? Memphis St lost games last year because they didn't have a steady PG to control the rock. Now that Rose is there the puzzle is complete. I think Mack and Anderson could fill CDR's role if needed, and I don't think they have anyone to do what Rose can...
