I don't know how many people watched the hearing on tv today. But after watching the hearing, I just really do not like McNamee at all. Just how he seemed to go about him self, and how he said stuff rubbed me the wrong way. He just seemed very smug about how he presented himself and I just dont like that. I just find it very hard to believe everything this guy is saying. I not saying he is lying about everything, but I definitely think he has lied about some of the stuff.

 

So I was just wondering if anyone else thought that about McNamee today after watching it, or if I was the only one?

I just don't know. Some things he did just gave me the impression that he was lying. Roger never, that I saw, put his hands to his face, stood straight and gave answers. Sometimes he did pause, but I'd do the same thing to make sure what I am saying is right.

I posted that he was smug and unlikeable not too long ago in the other thread.

Well the part I saw I believe they caught McNamee in a lie and that was when the injury occurred to his buttocks. The doctor gave Clemens a B-12 shot 7-10 days before that and led to an abyss on his buttock. McNamee said he gave Clemens a shot in July or early August in a Tampa clubhouse but the funny thing is Clemens was never at Tampa around that time he was only their in June and late September, so you do math that he injected. I'm still unclear about the whole situation but it's nice their not all attacking Clemense they went after McNamee as well.

I agree FutureCoach, I just dont like the guy. I want to beileve Roger just to see McNamee get burned more, but I think Roger is lieing. They are both lieing about stuff, though.

Roger stammered when asked certain questions. Brian didn't, he seemed like a scum bag, which he is. We, as "normal" folks need to take our reason and morals out of our own head when considering anything these two folks said.

I couldn't have set throug that today with out asking one of the Senators about their shaddy dealings.

 

Basically this is a baseball issue. Shouldn't the Senators be somewhere tring to solve healthcare or the war?

I'll put McNamee far ahead of Clemens on the credibility scale. Clemens' "non-answers" and vague answers about a number of topics were exactly what you see from someone being untruthful. Pettite testified that McNamee told him as far back as 2003 that Clemens had used HGH. Are we to believe that McNamee started setting up Clemens 5 years ago by feeding false information to Pettite? Not hardly. My gosh, McNamee injected Clemens' wife! And even though ol' Rog claims to have known nothing about this until after it occurred and was very upset by it, he continued to use McNamee as his personal trainer up until May 2007. Pettite, Knoblauch, Radowski all corroborated McNamee's story. Is he telling the 100% truth? No. But he's a whole lot closer to it than is Clemens. It is unfathomable to me that the man sat there before Congress, under oath, and in front of the entire country and lied and lied and lied. And believes he will get away with it because he's Roger Clemens, the greatest pitcher in baseball history.

Don't be too taken by this. I've interviewed countless number of people that sat there and lied to me in a very impressive fashion. People can be coached on how to control their non-verbals. Not saying it is easy, but it is very doable.

But how is that so hard to believe that he could have possibly did that. I mean the man help on to gauze pads and needles from 8 YEARS AGO! What kind of person would do a thing like that, except someone who is dirty and would definitely try to set up someone...Also you say that he stopped being Clemens trainer in 2007, does anyone know why he stopped? Did Clemens get rid of him, or did he just quit? (I really don't know that is why I asking.) So if Clemens did get rid of him in the summer of 2007, isn't it quite strange then that shortly after that McNamee told Mitchell this? I mean sounds like a guy who could have been mad that he just lost his best client. So is it really that hard to believe, that he would try to get back at him by setting Clemens up and ruining his image? I mean McNamee does seem like a pretty smart guy, and could set something like this up. Especially since he use to be a cop, he knows exactly what people look for in situations. So lets keep shots of Vitamin B-12 I gave Clemens, and then in the future if he turns on me, I could say it was steroids, and it would look like I was telling the truth since I really did inject a couple of other players. Please. Clemens was McNamee's meal ticket back then. He had absolutely no motive whatsoever to start a set up of Clemens five years ago. I've been in law enforcement over 20 years and, hate to tell you this, but some of our best sources of information are people holding a grudge, jilted, or just plain ticked off at someone. It doesn't make their information any less credible, especially if it can be substantiated by third party sources. What exactly are Pettite and Knoblauch's reasons for lying? Maybe McNamee is "smug" (I didn't see it that way) because he knows he's got the truth on his side. Ever think of that? Sorry, but I think you have a bit of "Roger Idol", which is exactly what Clemens is counting on to get himself out of this jam and win over the court of public opinion.

 

And as for it being my opinion, yes it is. Kind of the point of a forum like this, right?
