Besides violating confidence, I think you are taking some liberties with my take on the second CCH/HHS game. Either way, once CCH faltered on the first drive HHS took over and CCH pretty much gave up. Add to that, the CCH game may have been Highlands' best performance of the year.

 

Back to topic, I would say 14 to 21 in favor or Trinity but I will stick with 21. IMHO, Highlands would have struggled to score more than two touchdowns against T.

 

One thing is for sure, I would love to see Highlands and Trinity play each other every year.

Bottom line is that Highlands beat CCH (for whatever reasons) by a much larger margin of victory than you thought and it was a lot closer to what I thought (I told you that I thought we'd win by four tds).

 

I don't disagree with you that Highlands may not have scored more than 14 against T. I just do not feel that Trinity would have scored much more or even more than 14 against our D. Two pretty dang good offenses, LexCath and BG, only scored 9 and 7 points respectively against us in 07. If we scored 14 against T, in order for T to beat us by 21, that would have meant we'd have had to given up 35 points and there was no blooming way that would have happened if for no other reason than with our ball control offense, T would have not had the ball enough minutes to do so. We'll agree to disagree.

I don't think so. I remember you saying that you thought CCH had a real shot at beating Highlands and you told me you disagreed with my prediction that I felt we'd win by 4 tds. Heck we should have beaten them by four tds the first time. You and others thought that with Buckley back they'd play us much closer than the first game when we only beat them by two tds.

 

In any event, the real issue here is whether your prediction of what would happen if T played Highlands somehow should be given unassailable status. I was simply pointing out that at least for the CovCath vs Highlands matchup, my prediction was a lot closer than yours. Thus indicating that sometimes your predictions as to whom would win or how close the games would be are sometimes wrong. I feel that your prediction of T winning by 21 is wrong.

I'm sure that Trinity probably does peak at the end of the year. Same could be said of Highlands this year. Once we started in the playoffs, we picked it up a notch or two.

 

By the way, X's defense gave up 9 to LexCath in week 5. Three weeks later we gave up 9 to LexCath, so forgive me for feeling our D was comparable to their's

Rocks win this game by 21. Simply because no one runs a offense like Trinty and that's what makes them so hard to game plan. I would love to see these two great programs play on a regular bases. It would be great for the fans, players and football fans everywhere!

The THS v BGHS game was Trinity's 1st and BG had a game under its belt. The way THS was playing in the playoffs was awesome. Henry Clay and Boone County got BLASTED and they both had a lot of quality players and depth. Trinity scored more points against St. X than any other Trinity team in history and St. X had the best D in the state. I would have to go with THS by at least 21.

 

I heard that these teams played a couple of years ago as JVs at HHS and that THS easily handled HHS. Is there any truth to this?

 

Trinity is a nightmare matchup for Boone. If Shelby's offense sliced and diced Boone, how did anyone think Boone would stop or even slow T? And Boone does not have the quality depth the program has had, even as recently as 10 years ago.

I think a T/Highlands game would have been a good one to see, but Highlands would have come up a little short. T by 7.

I like the Cincy matchups myself. For if nothing else a decent crowd. HHS played Louisville St X two years ago at Paul Brown and the attendance was abysmal.
