Such is high school basketball...

 

I predicted a 30-point win. Pretty good prediction :thumb: Good job Elliott.

Another big win for Elliott.

Number 5 pointed at both scoreboards taunting the Raceland bench, and the crowd erupted with cheers.

 

I think this was a good game for Elliott. They got back on track shooting the ball better this game. Good luck to Elliott on Tuesday against Mason.

 

I just think it is funny that someone always needs to say something about Elliott County. Earlier in the year it was running up the score. This game was way more lopsided that the final score indicated. Elliott had their subs in early, which Raceland played their starters to cut it back to 29. So I guess no one can complain about Elliott running up the score.

 

Now it is Elliott's lack of sportsmanship. I don't want to hear anything about poor sportsmanship from the Elliott players or the crowd. When I played for Elliott back in the 90s the Raceland fans threw shoes on the court at us. I think you need to go back in history a little bit, before slinging mud about the Elliott fans.

No surprise here. I believe these teams have played 3 times this year and Elliott has beaten them by a combined total of around 100 points. I would say Elliott has their number. :lol:

They're kids. Sometimes they will react like kids. That's the way it goes in high school basketball. They have probably already forgotten about whatever happened (I wasn't at the game, so not sure). Unfortunately, its the adults that usually drag these things out.

Just got back from my Hook 2.5 hour road trip and it was well worth the price of admission. Elliott's subs got stuck on 98 the last 2 minutes and couldn't get the magic # to 100. Starters went out with 6:00 left in the game.

Ferg hit one of the longest treys I have seen in a while. Must have been 10 feet behind the 3 point line. Closer to half court than the three point line.

It was a rainbow and settled right in the bottom of the net. He had 5 treys and the Kid can shoot just like when I saw Lofton for years at Mason. Timmy Knipp played the best all around game I have seen from the young frosh. Had 20 points, good bunch of rebounds, blocked several shots inside, and for a change stayed out of foul trouble. Lions make the trip to Maysville and a real huge challenge on Tuesday. If they play like tonight they will be right there in the end. But, if they get bogged down in a 50 point game and shoot below 40% they will be in trouble.

 

Congrads Lions on beating a team 3x which is tough to do.

Congrats to Elliott County on the win. Ms. Liberty was so close. She was only off three points. Great prediction Ms. Liberty.

Let me add good solid performance by Chris Knipp with good outside shooting on several threes and some drives to the basket. Lions need this double knipp in the ole bud from these two gentleman on Tuesday. Ethan and Evan were steady and solid as usual. And Ferg was Ferg dialing in from downtown Isonville on some of those threes. GOOD LUCK TUESDAY LIONS FROM YOUR LONG DISTANCE NUMBER ONE FAN!!!! Can't wait for the jaunt up 68 to Maysville.

I thought that this game was a Raceland/Elliot game, did Rose Hill play as well :confused:?

 

My point is.......as another stated earlier, High School kids, especially in the heat/competiveness of a game sometimes will do things not exactly "correct", that happens anywhere and everywhere at times.

A bigger problem arises when adults join in an keep it going long after the fact.

I was not there and did not see it, but if what happened was what stated happened, (although if I am coaching and one of my players did this I would put him on the bench (thats just me)) that is certainly not 'flagrant" or a cheap shot. Would I agree with it.....No, have I witnessed much worse......Yes.

 

Usually it is when the adults keep the talk going long after the fact/incident is when is blows out of proportion. Elliot County won the game, deserved to win. Now lets move on towards the district tournaments.

It looks like you can read. Great work. Pointing at your jersey to the opposing team's crowd and a scuffle between two kids on the court are very different. Don't get me wrong, I don't know the Jackson kid. I'm sure he's a very good kid and wish him nothing bad. It was just a point, nothing more. The post by the Raceland fan seemed to say their team did nothing wrong, but that wasn't the case. If you were at the game you saw the kid from Raceland clap in Morgan's face (number 5). Morgan then pointed at the scoreboard. I didn't enjoy him pointing at the scoreboard, but he was just being a kid and responding to the kid that clapped in his face. It happens. Good luck to both teams going forward.

Tough loss for the Rams but was expected , now Raceland just as to shake this one off and get ready for a 63rd district and 16th region tournament run.

 

Don't count your chickens on that 16th region run.
