February 8, 200818 yr I just thought it was interesting the variation from party to party. That is totally cool whoever anyone wants to vote for. I was wondering what were the deciding factors each time? I concur on the interesting variation and the determining factors would indeed be interesting.
February 9, 200818 yr First voted in '76. Have voted Republican every time even though I was registered as a Democrat in the beginning because the nuns always told us growing up that we were Democrats. Switched over to Republican in the late 80's for obvious reasons. Sorry Sister!

I vote for who I think is the best candidate regardless of party affiliation. I'm registered as a democrat but I don't march lock step with the party hierarchy. I vote for what I think is best for my family's future and the future of this nation.
February 9, 200818 yr My parents always stressed how important it was to vote. They taught me to look at each candidate and see what he or she stands for. Don't just take everything you see or hear for the gospel. My dad would say don't just vote for the republicans because they were the party of Abraham Lincoln. He would also say don't just vote democrat because they are perceived as the party who fought for civil rights. Both of my parents would say each party comes up with ideas and ways to keep certain parts of the country locked in by pandering to them instead of doing what is best for the whole nation.
