thegooch Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Done deal according to ESPN News. Is Shaq really worth this kind of a trade? I can understand Banks, but Marion?
SvFan4life Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Wonder how quickly each will be suited up?
BoondockSaint Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Wonder how quickly each will be suited up? I would assume Marion will be immediately. Shaq is definitely questionable, I'm sure they'll want him as healthy as possible for when the playoffs arrive so he may see limited games/minutes for a while.
HOMELESS CAMEL Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 So Marion averages a double, double, has played virtually every game the last 7 years and you get someone 10 years older, who can't shoot free throws, can't run the floor anymore and obviously can't stay healthy enough to play for extended periods of time. Yep, makes sense to me. Whatever chances Phoenix had are gone now, this might go down as the trade that slammed shut that "window of opportunity".

*Jeanie* Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 This one has me scratching my head. Agreed. This was a crazy trade.
HammerTime Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 It will be very intresting to see how far of a drop Marion takes without Nash.
HammerTime Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Sometimes it is best to get rid of the cancer anyway you can. It's no secret Marion has been unhappy for a while.
NEWCATH84 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 What did the Suns get outta this? An old, slow guy with bad knees who has only seen action in like 5 games since Christmas
sweet16 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I am surprised at the Suns for this trade. Great deal for the Heat. Git rid of a huge contract plus get marion, one of the better all around players in the league.
UKPat02 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I'll bet Shaq's "ailments" disappear come playoff time. I kinda like the trade for the Suns. Amare can now move to the 4 and Shaq will put fannies in the seats more so than Marion.
bellalumni40 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 It will be very intresting to see how far of a drop Marion takes without Nash. Marion gets a lot of stuff off hustle. They never run plays for him, I dont know how negatively it will effect him. What did the Suns get outta this? If you think about it, Shaq is the new Kareem. The Showtime Lakers ran all the time like the Suns, then when they didnt have something they slowed it down and gave it to Kareem. Worked out pretty well for them. I am surprised at the Suns for this trade. Great deal for the Heat. Git rid of a huge contract plus get marion, one of the better all around players in the league. Marion doesnt have a small contract either. Banks is over paid as well and has 3 years left on his contract. I'll bet Shaq's "ailments" disappear come playoff time.
