Lip Piercing

Featured Replies

I am considering getting a lip piercing. I have done my research but I want to know what you all think. Has anyone had one before? What are the pros and cons?

Any good and safe places to go in the Lex/Lou area?

I plan to take it out before I go to medical school, call it my little rebellion

Don't do it....
Don't do it....

That would be my advice.

I'm all for people living their own lives, doing their own thing, but I don't see ANY advantage to having any body part, other than ears, pierced.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned.

Hey pal, I guarantee I can pierce it for you. With or without anesthesia!

I like that you said you would take it out before medical school. That is a big thing with some graduate level education. If you don't pass the look test, you won't get in. I had a male friend who was in elementary education and had both ears pierced once. He was told he couldn't participate in the program unless he removed his earrings.

Keep that in mind when you do this piercing. No that many people will look away from you and the right person might make their mind up not to hire you for potential employment. That doesn't mean don't do it...just think long and hard before you do.

:thumb:I am with you as well.

Ear piercing "For Women" in my book is fine and looks nice.

I am old fashioned as well and cannot stand to see piercings on guys in any way, shape or form.

Multiple facial piercings and the like on a female to me looks terrible as well.

I don't put them down for doing it, is their business I guess but I will just never understand it.

:thumb: Very good point. As much as some want say that it doesn't matter, believe me it does ;).

Pro.....If you're married it makes a fine place for the wife to snap on the leash.

Don't do it. I hate it when people have rings and such all over them. I guess I am old fashioned as well. Our ex-foster daughter just got her nose and belly done and then got a tattoo all the way down her neck....and she just had a baby. I like the clean cut look....but, if you are going to do it anyway, I would not have it in school or on the job.

I can think of "cons", or disadvantages. I am really having a hard time coming up with an "advantage" to piercing anything. It isn't rebellion, because many people are doing it now.

These non-conformists are all the same.....

I wasn't kidding, you want it pierced and you want to bring something to put in the hole when I get done, I'll put a hole in it for you!

Bad idea. By the way, what are you rebelling against?
