He said his congratulations. The game was over.

The simple fact of the matter was that the game wasn't legally over and the refs can't just end it on their own. IMO, if his players had to stay out there for the one last play - as meaningless as it was - then their head coach should have done the same.

He went out and shook hands.

I do think he should have stayed until the last second expired though.

I know, I know far fetched, but what if Eli would have fumbled the snap and the Pats would have picked up the ball and ran it back? Yes the game was over and yes he shook hands but he left his players out there I did not like it.

If I am not mistaken it was the Giants who only had to kneel down about 15 years ago but tried a handoff instead, fumbled and did exactly as you said. Other team picked it up and ran it in.

HB20 wasn't that the Giants?

I absolutely can't stand the guy but he did nothing wrong everyone thought time had expired.

IMO, it was classless in the fact that it looked as though he completely disregarded the ref trying to stop him.

As for the original question......imo YES, it was classless.

What else could one expect from the jerk.

I will say that he did come out and give his congrats to Coughlin but imo when the officials told them that a second was left on the clock and to get back to the sideline imo that is what he should have done.

If this is anyone else, everyone would be saying "NO"

If it was Tony Dungy, it would have been the right thing to do, probably. Im sure he would be going to be with his family or something like that.

Yes, everyone had thought that but when the referee told them it hadn't and to get back he disregarded that and left.

Tony would have never left the field. He is a classy individual.

I actually cimmented on this while it was taking place, but yea I don't think it was classless, he congratulated Coughlin when the game was over, whether it be official or not. The game was over, I don't care for Belicheck(spelling), but seriously it wasn't necessary, might people have thought more of him for doing it twice, yes, but was it necessary, I don't really think so.
