February 2, 200818 yr Okay, so this guy has been doing great for the Celtics. He's had over 20 points a few times, is playing great defense, hustling and getting steals, even double-doubles. Why couldn't he do this for Kentucky?! If he would have played like this, they would have been a better team. IMO, he's a much better pro player than college. What does everyone else think?

I can answer your question with two words TUBBY SMITH. Tubbys offense wasn't made for a point guard like Rondo. He couldn't shoot the three and all Tubby had them doing is rotating the ball around the perimiter until the got a three. Rondo is a good pro player surounded by great players, if he continues to improve he will be an all star in a few years.

Rondo is still young, and his game still has alot of room for improvement. The main thing in my opinion is experience experience experience. The more you do, and work on something, you are going to improve.
February 2, 200818 yr 1. The NBA game is a better fit for RR. 2. He's not THE MAN on his team so defenses don't focus on him. Having KG, Ray Allen, and Pierce certainly helps his cause. 3. His shot appears to have gotten a bit better.
February 2, 200818 yr This sounds kind of odd saying, but he is what really makes the Celtics click (in conjunction with their superstars). Rondo was hampered by an injury for a few weeks, and it is exactly when the Celtics began losing some games and cooled off from their 32-3 (or whatever it was) start.

February 2, 200818 yr He is surrounded by 3 all stars on his team so this does help him alot, but that dont mean he isnt a good player himself. He is playing alot better in the pro's then he did for Kentucky. I agree that this is because of Tubby. He will be one of the best PG in the game in a couple of years!

February 2, 200818 yr Rondo had an amazing freshman season, did you all forget that? His sophomore season resulted in him being a 1st round draft pick. Don't see that Tubby hindered him to much, but heck we have blamed everything else on Tubby might as well add this to the list!

Yeah, the other night he had like 23 points in their absence. And one night, he literally stole the rebound from Nowitzki and put the game winner in.
February 2, 200818 yr I just don't think the style of play at Kentucky was right for Rondo. He is doing very well in the NBA though...
