February 1, 200818 yr I thought the president didn't have anything to do with the economy and it's cycles. Only in two cases: 1) Bad economy - Republican president 2) Good economy - Democrat president
February 1, 200818 yr I am. It means nothing to me as a voter and I tune out when they begin talking about it. Remember I was 14 the first election and 18 the second. ON the second one, my parents told me I would vote Democrat because that is what we do in our family. We are Democrats and we ONLY vote for Democrats. If Joseph Stalin would have been the candidate, we would vote Democrat. If Adolf Hitler was the Democrat candidate, I think they would consider voting Democrat. Sounds like my family. Wise parents.

I have learned to make this political system work, I need to look at each candidate and how they matchup with my beliefs and what I view is the path that is best for the country and not just the letter behind the name. That is dangerous thinking to the two major parties and they don't want that. They want ignorant, uninformed voters that vote because the letter behind the name. Also, probably the reason I have voted for Dems, Reps, Independents and one wife for the myriad of offices that I have cast a vote in.
February 5, 200818 yr :thumb: If more politicians today would adhere to the principles set by Reagan, no matter what side of the aisle they are on, they may actually get something meaningful accomplished. He was a great man and I could never get tired of him. :thumb:

February 5, 200818 yr This is surprising. Can you elaborate? I'm not sure why this is so surprising since, to the best of my knowledge, we don't know each other. As for elaborating, I'll just say that I'm a DAV and a strong union person and leave it at that.
