I believe Chris Lofton had around 54 one game. Not sure, but that may have been his career high.

True, Chris had 54 points against Pendleton County on Senior Night in 2004.

Ronnie Lyons actually holds the Mason County record with 60 points at Bourbon County in 1970.

Grant County, I believe Allen Shafer scored 49 against Lexington Catholic a few seasons back. He was making unbelievable shots.

I have this one on film & pull it out every once in a while for my daughter, who trains with Allen, to watch!

I always liked Allen. He was fun to watch and a heck of a player. Just wish he would have used all his potential at the next level.

Any Scott Co. people know the record for the Cardinals? I attended a game back in the early '90's where a kid by the name of Jamie Pieratt (I think) absolutely went off. I believe he had 50-something and was thinking it was a record at the time. Does anyone else remember this?

I believe Pieratt had 54 that game and that is our record, although Casey Alsop poured in 48 vs St. Raymond/Julius Hodge in the 5/3rd in 1999-2000, the best shooting exhibition I've ever seen.

One of those players that you found yourself watching all of the time in a game to the exclusion of all the other players on the court. He can still play. :ylsuper:

He has been awesome training with my daughter & his work with her shows in her play.

I attended this game. I believe it was December 1996 at Campbell County's old Christmas Tournament. Pendleton County was playing West Carter. Senior David Turner (Talbert's younger brother) scored 55 points on basically one knee. He had injured his knee during the first half that game and still went on to score 55.

Some of this information might need to be tweaked, but I am positive that he scored 55 points in Campbell's Tournament one year.

You might be right. I was thinking district tournament (which would have made it 1997 or after when PC and CCo were in the same district) because I'm pretty sure that David Turner didn't ever play again after that.

Regardless, it was an amazing performance, one that has stuck with me after all of these years.

Good luck to your daughter. She has a good mentor.:thumb:

Did David Shelton have the Grant record before that? I recall him lighting up Gallatin County for something like 44 in a game back when I was in junior high.

Leslie County - Tim Couch (Yes the same one...Not sure how many)

He scored either 63 or 69 against someone his Junior year when he lead the state in scoring with 37 points a game. Might have been M.C. Napier, but not a 100% sure.

I know his senior year he scored close to 50 against us in Booneville, and also had a couple of nice dunks. Then he signed autographs for fans, mostly students, after the game.

This game was played at Leslie Co. his Senior year, and he scored 41 points, with about three dunks in the final few minutes. That was the year the Meade kid from Hazard went to Leslie Co. and played with Couch. I remember because some said they combined for the most points in school history, with 71 points combined. Couch had 41 and Meade had 30. If I remember correctly.

If Q-man reads this thread, I know he might be able to tell us who holds the scoring record at Hazard. I am sure it is probably Johnny Cox, but not sure how many it would be.

We played them at Booneville and he scored something like 47 points, but it might have been his junior season. I remember the dunks and strong play, and him signing autographs after the game.

Chad Meade is my favorite player to come through Leslie County. :thumb:

Augusta's record is held by Joe Goecke, he scored 63 in 1961 I believe. Brian Kirk made a run at that total in 2004 but fell short scoring 55 in a loss at Carroll County.

I remember Chris Harrison scoring 72 of Tollesboro's 98 points vs. Augusta. I sat close enough to the Augusta bench to hear players in the timeouts saying, "I'm not guarding him!!"
