January 30, 200818 yr I have...no one said we'd be great. We've said we don't think that we'll be down offensively, and that the defense had no where to go but up. We've said we feel we have a good chance at beating Kentucky in the first game of the year. But no one said that we thought we'd be great next year. We also did say that we have questions about the defense, but gave reasons why we thought we'd be better. Not great, better.

With the exception of a coaching change and a couple of losses on defense, UofL fans had no reason NOT to expect a great season last year. We as fans had to own up to the mediocrity that took place in the 07 season. And UK fans have every right to be proud of what they accomplished last season. Some on here like to do a twist of 'the boy who cried wolf'; the UK fans that keep crying "UofL is bad!" season after season until finally one season they ARE and they scream "I TOLD YOU SO!", and the UofL fans that keep insisting that we're moving on to greatness in football (I was one of them... don't get me wrong, I love my Cardinals, but that train made a screeching halt last season and it's going to take more than 5 great years before others are going to reconsider them, unfortunately). A lot of us need to reevaluate our logic (mine is still flawed, but compared to the BCS, it's Einstein. Can everybody say "PLAYOFFS"?). Man, I can't wait for next season just to see if things could get crazier than last.

The offense will still be able to put up very decent numbers. If you think we have our heads in the clouds, you need to look in the mirror. Your obvious hate for UL is getting in the way of you making intelligent posts...

Seriously...whole different scenario in '08...who knows exactly what scenario, but with all the changes, it will be different. Would you have me continually post references to some dismal game in UK's past to justify any idea that UK would be a bad team in a future year? Seriously...I'm all for listening to what you have to say, but keep it grounded in facts...returning players, new players, coaching changes, etc, etc.
January 31, 200818 yr Author With most of UK defense returning, and a different approach on offense. And UL with thier defense up in the air, plus a QB that still needs to prove somehting. I give UK the edge. Imo.

I just dont understand how you people are on here talking about them being better next year or whatever you said. Who do they have coming back on O besides this back up who has not proven anything.
