It has mostly to do with his raising which I'm sure most of you already know about and probably doesn't need much discussion.

 

I have no clue what you're talking about. Are you trying to say that his involvement with the Muslim religion makes him "not really American."

My answer would be No. Oh wait, if he was running vs. Hillary I might and probably would.......

It seems that there's a sentiment in America these days that you are only American if you are Christian, and that your family is of some hypothetical genetic lineage that traces back to...???? Well, what it could be, I have no clue.

 

Interesting sentiment in a country who's greatness was crafted from the millions of immigrants that have chosen our soil over the last few hundred years....

If John Howard was an American, I would vote for him in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, an authentic "Straight Talk Express" campaign would not work in our PC society. So we are stuck with leaders whose speeches are the product of political hacks and focus groups. How many of America's greatest past presidents would have achieved greatness in today's political environment?

Because John Howard understands that in order for a nation to survive and thrive, its citizens must share a common culture - in our case an American culture. That does not mean that citizens should not celebrate Cinco de Mayo, St. Patrick's Day, or Ramadan, but at the end of the day they must be Americans first.

 

I believe that the United States has been the most free and prosperous nation in history because most of our immigrants have shared a common vision with earlier immigrants. They understood and accepted the concept of a melting pot and came here to become Americans.

 

A balkanized America will be unable to provide freedom and security to any of its citizens Would-be immigrants who are unwilling to be assimilated into our culture should be denied entry.

Obama's dad was Kenyan and his mother was a natural-born US citizen from Kansas.

I would definately vote for him. He sounds like someone who has the cajones to stand up for what he feels is right for his country and not worry about offending a few loudmouthed individuals who want to stand around a campfire, hold hands and sing Cum Baya.
