I said no, for one reason is that he wants to monitor all Mosques, even ones that do not raise any suspicions, this sounds too much like Hitler's Germany, or Stalin's Russia. What's next? Putting numbers on all Muslims arms for quick identification?

 

I don't agree with his stance on learning the language, would be nice if people whoa re going to be there the rest of their lives will try, but English is one of the hardest languages to learn anyway.

 

Most of everything else I agree with. If I ever move to another country, even become a citizen, all I would want it to be accepted and my belief's to be as well. I am not going to get all upset because they want their version of Bible, or Koran or whatever in their schools and such and not mine. As long as they accept that I have the right to do what I please which includes worship as I please and as this guy said, live in harmony, that's all I would want.

As Habib has pointed out, All of that garbage of Obama being raised Muslim or radical Muslim has been repeatedly shot down, yet people still believe it.

Is he committed more to the country of The United States of America, or the continent of Africa? My geography may be lacking but isn't Africa all the way across the Atlantic Ocean, and a continent made up of many different countries? If that is where is devotion or committment lies he has many more things to worry about than being American.

I'll tell you a little story. There was this basketball team I coaches a few years ago, we had this player from out of state who was really good, he was Jewish. Well, usually beefier games I have the team get together for a the Lord Prayer, I told him we will do this and all I asked for him to do was stand with us, he could pray whatever way he wanted, or that he could just stand they and not say or think anything. He had no problem with it, neither did his dad.

 

The thing about my story, is shouldn't be a big deal if the Ten Commandments are in the public schools or public places, even next to something from other faiths. You and I are going to pay attention to what is posted on our faith, and they will do the same for theirs. It's that simple, we can coexist.

I was talking about John Howard being a legal immigrant, not Obama. I wasn't clear on that.

 

IMO, the stink that is raised over things such as the Ten Commandments does not employ the idea of living together in peace and harmony. 50 years ago, or even 20, when everyone wasn't lawsuit crazy things like this weren't an issue.

 

Why now??? Is it because people from different religions and ethnic groups are more vocal?? If that's the reason, who cares? They are still a small percentage of the American population.

1st Bold: I agree and am fine with that, but the reason I am discouraged is because that has not happened. I'd rather see 10 different kinds of religions have their principles on morals and ethics posted than NONE at all. But that isn't what happened.

 

2nd Bold: Again, it is your right to not say the Pledge of Allegiance, but it is not anyone's right to take mine away.

 

3rd Bold: You're lucky it was sometime ago, and that the kid and his family are good people. Nowadays it isn't safe to come to an oral understanding on a matter such as this one for fear of being sued. Think about how sad that is.

 

4th Bold: We have pretty much open borders, are the self-proclaimed melting pot of the world, the statue of liberty practically says if your unwanted in your own country you're still wanted here, and our immigration laws are a joke.

 

So who's not trying to get along with who here?
