Sorrell sure can get the get ball to in the basket! Coach Goetz does a great job of making his players understand their jobs!!!! HC is a solid team just not enough depth!

Although I am a CovCath fan, I am disappointed to read and hear so much talk about the CovCath/Holy Cross rematch in the tournament. I do think there is a pretty good team in Ft. Mitchell that Holy Cross still has to beat in order to be the #3 seed.

 

When do they play? You are correct , as we saw with the CCH/BW game, that this is far from a given. BW has a lot of talent spread out amongst the boys that play which may cause some problems for HC.

 

IMO Sorrell will kill BW inside. He'll own the boards. Can BW do something about that?

Holy Cross doesn't seem to have any other real scoring threat other than Sorrell. He had 2/3 of their points tonight and the rest of his supporting cast just couldnt seem to put the ball in the basket. Could you imagine if Sorrell would have decided to stay at Cov Cath how much different of a game this would have been?

They play Tuesday in the All 'A' and not until Feb 6 at Beechwood which will be the seeding game. Romas should be back by then also and at Beechwood, could be interesting.

Your are correct, sir. I thought the seeding was already set. Didn't realize Holy Cross and Beechwood have not yet played. Let me amend my post and make the point that Cov. Cath's First Round District rematch against either the Tigers or the Indians will be a battle and will be fun to watch.

holy cross needs more offense if they want to excel..

hc looked lost at times on defense rolle lit it up..

maile's strength was to much down low...

on top everything great atmosphere!!!

Colonels balanced scoring attack too much for the Indians. Sorrell plays like a POY candidate.

CCH- Schmerge 21, Roll 14, Maile & Shover 11, & Grimes 8

HC- Sorrell 15/21 FG, 3/5 3P, 4/5 FT, 13 rebounds and 37 points.

 

CCH 53% from the field & 53% from 3P 10 of 26 FG's were threes

HC- 49% from the field & 22% from 3P 4 of 18 from 3P

As usual, great atmosphere for a regular season game.

 

From what I've seen, there's not a better player in the 9th region than Sorrell.

Sorrell is tough, but Arrez Henderson from Holmes absolutely locked him up and held him close to 20 points below his average.

If Holmes wins region, Henderson will be POY, not Sorrell.

Sorrell is the most prolific scorer in the region though.

I would not limit him to just being a "scorer" though. His all-around offensive game is the most impressive I've seen in quite a while in NKY.

I never had the opportunity which is unfortunate. However, I doubt if Pelle could have the mix of inside/outside that Sorrell does. Isn't Pelle 6'0 or so?
