eastfan
Congrats to Elliott Co. on the win. East Carter played really good man defense and rebounded the ball well. Elliott's press was not as effective as in the first matchup but Elliott still got enought scores off of turnovers to hold off the Raiders. East Carter is getting better each game and played with a lot of confidence. Look forward to watching rematch which will probably be in District play. Not quite ready to hand Elliott the District and Regional title yet. Great effort by East Carter - GO RAIDERS!!
CountyPride
Things are getting very interesting in the 16th? Very. Seems like every other team is starting to improve and Elliott is still good but the same. Problem is the being the same is probably still good enough for Elliott to get to State. Guest American Skier
Sounds like sour grapes. You blaming the refs for the close game. Sounds like EC played a solid game. Out rebound a team by 15 and only have 13 turnovers and shoot 90 % from free throw lin?;how did the refs do that.

KNOWITALL
This close win will only help Elliott Co. down the Stretch. Somebody said that East always plays Elliott tough at Elliott Co. and even beat them at Elliott last year.
eccheer
WAY TO GO ELLIOTT!!! This was really a game to watch tonight. It was close from the beginning to the end. East came to Sandy Hook to win and really stepped up their game. Districts should be VERY INTERESTING!!!! :ylsuper: I'm still confused about the technical called on Elliott. Anyone got any answers?? oldrambler
What a game this must have been, I did not think that anyone in the region would come close to Elliot this season.
bigblueinsanity
Elliott Co has a short bench don't they?
ky hoopster
This should be good for both teams. Elliott needs to win some close games before tournament time. East proved they are the 2nd best team in the region in my opinion. They played a near flawless games against the Elliott press. East shot I believe over or around 90% from the free thow line, outrebounded Elliott by 17, and only had 13 turnovers. Elliott Ferguson 19 pts Ev. Faulkner 20 Et. Faulkner 21 pts 9 reb T. Knipp 8 C. Knipp 7 East Johnson 28 pts 12-12 Free throws Jackson 11 Barnhill 15 pts 11 reb that is all I heard from East Correct Stats for Elliott from game tape. Ferguson 22- 4- 2's 4-3's 2-FT Et. Faulkner 21- 3-2's 2-3's 9-FT Ev. Faulkner 20- 4-2's 3-3's 3-FT T. Knipp 8- 4-2's C. Knipp 4- 2-2's
The Hammer
Very good Sportsfan. You always know the correct numbers. I believe the technical on Elliott was because there were 2 number 21's in the book. Please correct me if I'm mistaken. Elliott's newest varsity player wears 21 in the JV and 12 in the varsity. Of course Timmy Knipp wears 21 in the varsity for Elliott, so it appeared to be a slight mistake, oh well, it happens. The scorebook keeper for Elliott is very good at her job and has done it for years for the girls. She just stepped in to help the boys, and may have mixed up 2 players numbers. No big deal, no one is perfect, and she is darn good at keeping the books. Thanks for the hard work and dedication over the years, we at Elliott appreciate it. ky hoopster
Saturday a player forgot his white jersey so he had to borrow one. It was # 12 and the younger player sat out. tonight they both were on bench and they still had both at # 12. Thats what I was told. would not swear to it though because I didn't see it. Makes sense to me. That would make me wrong in what I posted. But that is what I thought happened. Either way, it was an honest mistake. No matter, I still support the book keeper. She is very good and dedicated.

I just overheard one of the players telling someone that. Like I say that don't mean the story I heard is correct!!! Great game! I like a close one every now and then, but not that close:scared: I remember when one of the Elliott Co posters 2-3 month's ago said that East was one of the biggest and most athletic in the region and would be in the running for numero uno:D Elliott missed 12 from charity, but if they had hit 9 of the 12 would have still been close:eek:

Sorry, if that is what it sounded like. I was just saying that if that were true, I was wrong. I know we are on the same side. No negatives from me to you, ever. We may or may not always agree, but we are always on the same side.
