The tax payers nor the families involved in high school activities had any say over my friend Bowling losing his job. Sorry, had to go there, a hole other can of worms stirring at Beechwood.

 

I think Beechwood will get soccer due to activities involving why Bowling is gone(Athletic Foundation). I look for Coach Long also to leave BHS along w/a few players. Not saying Coach Long has a new job picked out and will take said players w/him, just that if he leaves a few players will also leave.

 

To answer a question regarding how many girls have left BHS due to not having soccer, TWO that I know of in the last TEN yrs. More have left due to other sports, mainly basketball, 1 softball and 1 golf that I know of. Not one girl that I know of has ever left due to volleyball.

 

Your buddy Bowling pulled his daughter out for basketball reasons so why should the school be so loyal to him, he certainly wasn't to his school. Then he brings her back when it didn't work out at Boone, Sorry but I had to go there since you did. :lol::ylsuper:

I am surprised that the number is that low. Especially with the dozens of kids from Ft. Mitchell that play club soccer locally.

Exactly right and hind sight is 20/20. He did what he thought was right for his kid and it was not kept secret from anyone that he was pulling her out as what was done in the past w/some others who left.

 

H.S. is all about the kids and what the kids want. Isn't this what is being sd about the soccer issue. Well, whether you like it or not, the kids want Bowling and if the board agenda wasn't such a big secret back in Feb and families were made aware of what was going on AGAIN, Bowling would still be at Beechwood as well as St E. HJ, you seem to be an intellegent man but you don't know everything about every school and their unique situations. How about commenting on the issue about the public having a say so instead of just picking out the Bowling issue. Do you agree or disagree, should the community have a say so on who is taking care of their kids while participating in extra curricular act. or not? You say they should regarding having soccer, well, unfortunately it is a big deal to the community who takes care of their kids also and they weren't given the chance, as they were last yr, to voice their opinions.

You brought up the issue with Bowling in a previous post and I simply responded to it. As far as the community having a say in the issue of St E. then absolutely they should have a say. They have a say by attending their board meetings and speaking up. Kids are even allowed to attend and there is a time when the public can speak and ask questions. If the community is displeased with the way the school board is representing them then they should show their displeasure in November and vote in new board members. Most school boards depend on the recommendation of their Superintendent, Principal and AD in these type of situations. Just because the Superintendent or others may make a recommendation doesn't mean the board members have to go along with it. They should vote for what they think is right for the kids and their community. Just curious but what was the vote on the St E./Bowling situation? Was it unanimous or did anyone vote not to switch?
