So your daughter wants to play high school soccer and there's enough interest to get a team started but a volleyball parent says it will hurt that program so we cannot have it and you tell your daughter "take no for an answer????"

Based on the mentality of some of those quoted, the girls b-ball program had better ship up or they will be shut down.

 

I will disagree wholeheartedly with my friend Beechwoodfan and say that BW is completely wrong on this issue. If it hurts volleyball then volleyball wasn't as strong as some think.

I could go on and on but one last thing, the parents say it's not about "quality but quantitiy." Show me one parent who could care less if their little Johnny or Susie doesn't win and I will call them a liar.

A couple of points. NDA, arguably one of the best teams in the state of Kentucky has not had their own practice field or game field since the inception of their program. Hasn't stopped them...

 

Point two. A football field IS big enough to play soccer on. Regulations state that a soccer field must be at least 100 yards long and at least 50 yards wide. While a wider field is preferred, a football field will work.

HHS girls' soccer team is in the same situation. They play at a park just like the park in Ft Mitchell. Why not there?

 

BTW, it is long enough and it is wide enough. So, why would they not play on the football field?

Baloney!!! According to the Khsaa website the minimum a high school soccer field can be is 100 yards goal line to goal line and 55 yards touchline to touchline ,while a football field is as everyone knows is also 100 yards goal line to goal line with 30' deep endzones and is 53 yards 1'wide . You are telling us that you can't squeeze out another 2 1/2 feet on each side line of Beechwood's football field to get to the minimum width ,and if it is too small in length are you telling us that Beechwood has been playing on an undersized football field all these years .
