:thumb::thumb::thumb: It would be kinda hard to have a press conference with the man himself if he is still in Texas. According to the the Advocate there has been no word from Morriss as of 12:00 today. I think they wanted to have some kind of rally at the school, if he did accept, and they want the students and the public there. So I suppose if it's a go then they will arrange all of that for the time he will be in town.

Baylor fires Morris. Pays him a million $ and tells him he can't coach college football. How in the heck does that work? A man can't go and make a living for a year. I know everyone will say he should beable to live off a million bucks. But what if his wife likes to shop?

 

Anyway I don't understand how a university can force that policy. They are not going to wait a year to hire a coach?

I would think that Baylor wishes that Mr. Morriss takes a college job somewhere, to keep from paying the Million Dollars. I am not sure how all that contract stuff works. If someone wants to pay me a Million Dollars to do nothing, I'd say show me where to sign up. I want to be first in that line for sure. :thumb:

It's a buyout. He had time left on his contract and the million dollar figure is the settlement. Think of it as a divorce. Baylor pays alimony for a year or until Morris remarries.

What is the story of how Morris was contacted about his interest that started the whole thing?

 

My understanding is that Guy owns a 100+ acre farm in Boyle County. A farm that he bought for reitirement when he coached the UK Wildcats. So, it is plausible to think that the "farm" is the thinking for relocating to Boyle County!

 

I also understand that the word is to be known today...

Has anyone checked to see if any fllghts are heading to Lexington from Texas? Has any money been wired from Danville to a bank in Texas?
