Nothing can be Absolute.

 

Just curious...if nothing can be absolute, then how can you say that? Isn't that an absolute in itself?

Maybe that there is no absolute proof that something can be absolute. And if there is no absolute proof, then would it be absolutley proven that it is absolutely not absolute.?

I am a science freak. (Not to be confused with a freak of science.) I love the study of science and have no problem with reconciling science to my Christian beliefs. However, as Covercorner pointed out, I have a difficult time with scientists that have agenda's to prove. That is, making the evidence prove what you believe and disregarding the evidence that fails.

I believe every word in the Bible is true. The earth is in fact just a little over 6000 years old and Noah did indeed have dinosaurs on the arc I think that since he was 600 years old he was smart enough to take dino eggs on the arc and not grown dinosaurs. You know he probably did not take full grown elephants either. Young ones would take a lot less space and feed.

Which translation? KJV? RSV? NIV? NAS?

 

Which language? Hebrew? Aramaic? Greek? English?

Oddly enough, that same verse appears in my Bible; and it's not a KJV.

You do understand that the oldest manuscripts are in Greek and Hebrew right? Not KJV?

 

I only ask this because I've met many who believed that Jesus read from the KJV. I'm not saying you believe that but if we don't have the "original autographs" I think everything else is translation isn't it?

I believe that God annointed King James to have them translated into English. Jesus may have read in Aramic as a young boy, but he spoke Greek Hebrew and all other Languages as an adult.

Then you should know that the Authorized King James Version of 1611 included the Apocrypha. It wasn't until the early 1800's that Bible societies started to omit the whole section of Apocrypha books.

THe Apocrypha was never considered to be inspired by God. It was betweeen the testaments and the true Christians were submitted to God's authority, not man's. As for the manuscripts and such that everyone thinks we keed to go back to, God said his word would endure forever, not the Greek maunscript. If I believe what God says, which I do, then we must have God's word available us today in the exact way that he would want us to have, and thats in the KJV.
